Laura, I got a few Michigan Moms together and we created 80 goodie bags for the Stennis. They've been mailed off in 7 flat rate boxes. Happy Thanksgiving everyone. No sailor home this time but having dinner this evening with our other kids.

From my house to your house:Happy Thanksgiving!

My Sailor made advancement to E-4. I am so proud of him. Lorraine-I enjoy receiving the alerts. I often send them to my Sailor since he is not always aware of what is going on top side.

Laura, thanks for the Google tip. I tried the Holiday project link and it didn't go anywhere for me. So I clicked on All Groups (above, under the tabs) and it was easy to find. Thanks for letting us know.

What is the project and where can we find more information about it?

StarChild, what kind of alerts do you get? Just wondering if this is another way to keep up on my son's boat.So glad your son could be home for your daddy's service.

I finally had a phone call from my son when they surfaced in Norway. It was the highlight of my week since it had been over 2 months! Now I expect the same or longer before I hear from him again. When I retire in 3 1/2 months I'll have more time to look for information.

Penny, Scott didn't say if he gets much sleep but he sure sounded good when I talked to him. They're young so they probably think little of it most of the time.

My son is an MM on USS Wasp. My daddy passed away a month ago and my Sailor spoke. He is named after my daddy and he spoke about his name. I was so proud. When he cried I cried. I googled the uss wasp and now I receive alerts. This helps me out a lot since I don't hear from him much. He will send me an email when he get a chance.

I hear that for their first year while they are doing quals they get very little sleep and absolutely almost no time for themselves.  Feel bad for them actually, as I know it is so hard on those kids.
