Proud, they ask for the AFO address so that would be a no-go for me. It's fine though. I'll look it up online or go to the post office and get them myself.

Thanks Camanae, that's good to know! I guess you could always say he is...? ;)

Dani Girl-

Where can I get information about Space Available (Space A) travel?

The best resource is to either visit the AMC Travel Site, or contact the nearest military passenger terminal (a list of Passenger Terminals is available on the AMC Travel Site).  The terminal staff will have the most current information.  If you plan to travel Space A, contact the passenger terminal(s) where you plan to depart from.

Hi, ladies. Just joined the group this morning. My husband arrived to Pcola on Saturday. He's in INDOC and will probably be on hold while he waits for his security clearance to go through.

ProudNavyWife- When I called the number yesterday, they said they would not send the boxes to me unless my husband was deployed :(

Thanks for the Space A info, ProudNavyWife! Where do we get the flight schedules?

I saw this posted elsewhere on N4M:

Free boxes through USPS- You can call 1-800-610-8734 opt 1, the opt 1 again. Tell them you want the military package. They will send you 6 priority pack N ship boxes of various sizes. Along with packing supplies and tape.

You can also print your postage online and save up to 40%. Just DO NOT tape over the bar code.

www.usps.com and click on Quick N Ship. You can even schedule a pick up. You can also reorder as well from the site. TAKES ABOUT 7 TO 10 DAYS TO RECEIVE.

I had USAA for car insurance since 2007, but every few months they'd somehow alter my rate so I switched to Geico (military discount avail). My parents, however, still have USAA for insurance with no problems.

Just found out that Liberty Mutual does NOT give any military discounts. Guess we'll be taking our business elsewhere. Do any of you use USAA for car/home insurance?

If you are planning any sort of vacation or leisure activity, always check with MWR (Morale, Recreation and Welfare) on base.  Many people overlook the great deals offered through the office, discount tickets, tours, gear rental, and base facilities and activities such as free concerts and sports tournaments.    MWR has rental cottages in Hawaii, four star hotels, and other amazing places to get away. Often these facilities will have sliding rates so even the most junioe saior can enjoy top notch getaways.
