My daughter is also at Ft Meade in A school until March I think.  She LOVES it.  Kerry, Im sure our kids know each other.  Ask him if he has had any pumpkin cookies lately !  Hahaha.                                                                                     Joyb, my kid is also a graphics person, that has always been her thing,  and she said they would be doing some grapic design but it seems the emphasis is learning solid journalism skills.  Kerry is right, they sound challenged and excited.  All I keep hearing is it is the sweetest job in the Navy.

Hello everyone, I'm going to enlist within the next year after I graduate and this is one of the jobs I'm interested in, can anyone just give me some more info on it or tell me a website i can read more about it at?

Do they ever get an opportunity to do Graphics, black/white, etc?  My daughter is REALLY artistic and has won scholarships for her art.

My son Casey is now at MC A school at Fort Meade.  He seems to really be happy when we talk to him.  Everyone that I read about that is an MC seems really challenged and excited about what they do.  He is at Fort Meade until April.

I love the 'man overboard' story.  Casey is going to love this.

When my husband was in A school they filled out a dream sheet a list of your to three places you wish to be stationed. its not at all garenteed. She could get overseas but eventually she will more then likly go to a ship. My husband got a rare opportunity of being stationed at sea duty but not on a ship. He is at a command instead. So she could end up overseas, my friends orders to greece are only two years so his next station will prob be a ship since greece is considered shore duty

Do they get a choice?  My daughter wants to go overseas and not be "stuck" on a ship.  She doesn't care what county.

@Texas Carol --what an honor to have your sons pics noticed and possibly selected by National Geographic!! Whether or not they actually use his pics, is for another story, but peaking the interest of the best photographers is really something. Yes, I agree, they do have the best Navy job ever!

The MC specialists have the coolest Navy jobs ever. I 'liked' US Navy on FB and any pic or video posted is credited to an MC specialist. they are everywhere any time a photo shoot is needed. The pics are great. There is a weekly photo contest, just for fun, where you 'like' your favorite pic (s) of the various jobs, places and actions taken by the Navy world-wide. The pics always have a caption and is credited to an MC specialist.
