If anyone is looking for advice on visiting Ft. Meade, my boyfriend just graduated from there and I live near the base so I know the area pretty well and can tell you the ins and outs of visiting and how the new detachment works.

No, we had until 8pm on Friday. We then met her at the airport about 3am, her flight left at 6am. I would suggest you bring their laptop if you get to go to the airport. I brought my daughter's but she didn't take it and it cost me a fortune to ship it today. They don't get overnights for 3 months.
For some reason I was registered under two names. I deleted Gi's mom.

Thank you, Texas Carol!  I secretly hope my boyfriend will have to wait a little before he goes to Ft. Meade so that I can spend more Liberty with him the weekend of PIR!  ;)

Gi's Mom, were you able to spend much time with your new sailor this weekend?  I hope so!  Congratulations!  :)

Lauren my boyfriend left rtc on sat morning at 7am. We got to the airport at 2am to spend some time with him before he left. He told me later that half the mc's left sat and the other half got the weekend. We didn't even know he was leaving sat until the weekend of grad.

Hello everyone,

My boyfriend will be graduating from RTC GL on April 29th, and he is then headed for MC A-school at Ft. Meade... According to RTC, all sailors depart for A-school on Saturday after PIR.  I am really hoping that maybe sailors going to DINFOS are the exception to the rule, and that I'll have more time to spend with my new sailor that weekend.  From your experience, when did your sailor ship from RTC GL to DINFOS?

Thank you!

Aloha.  My son is reaching the point in MC A school that he needs his own

laptop. Any suggestions for one that he can grow with?
