The classes are Mon-Fri but they rotate through the group standing watches on weekends also. When my DIL went to visit my son he was able to submit a request to stay with her at the Navy Gateway on base.  Since Thanksgiving is so short it is unlikely he would be allowed leave during that time.  If he is still there at Christmas he would probably be allowed to take one week off during the 2 week stand down.  My son went to a church where they were all fed a wonderful home cooked meal at Thanksgiving.

My son will be at Meridian A School. Is the training Monday-Friday, or 7 days a week? As he'll be there during Thanksgiving, would he get a few days, i.e.: Wed night - Sun morning to fly home?

My baby boy passed his last test at "A" school.. woohoo!!

He will fly home on Tuesday, I think.  Haven't hugged him since May 1st.   He has requested steamed crabs for dinner.

Hi my son just graduated from boot camp and left for Mississippi today for A school week

Does he have his cell phone or a computer? They are allowed to call/text so you can try that (but at first they are really busy getting oriented). Otherwise you will have to wait until he contacts you with his address. He may want some civilian clothes since they phase up pretty quick in Meridian because the schools are so short. But failing that they can get most of what they need at the Navy Exchange. He won't need/want much because the school is short & he will have to carry it to hiis first duty station.  What school is he in?
