Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

We want to surprise Molly when she gets back from her vacation by being in the running for a grant from Prilosec OTC.  With any luck we can win a grant outright before her return, but first things first.

We need to get our application and video submitted.

The need is for some emails of thanks from a sailor, marine, soldier, airman or chaplain regarding being adopted and what the packages mean to them and/or the morale of the group.  If you find some that are noted to break out the kleenex, those will work.

We also need pics for the video.  Again, the requirements are the same as above.

Think PASSION while you are looking.  That is Prilosec OTC's catch word for their grant.  Tell us about your PASSION (the troops).  How can we help you fulfill your PASSION (we need money to send more packages).  How does this PASSION effect someone else (the pics & emails).   I think you've got the idea!  ;)

If you have any thoughts or suggestions please add them to this discussion too.

We have a final deadline of April 15th, but we are aiming for Friday, April 11th because they will inform us if something isn't right and that allows us one day to fix the problem.  This grant won't come up again this year so it is a Now or have to wait & hope they do it again next year.

Rough drafts are already completed and being looked over.  You all are needed to help polish it up to a winning presentation.

We CAN do this because we always work together.  And, besides... NAVY MOMS ROCK!!!

Ready, set, go...

I just voted.  #434.

Just remind everyone they need to post a comment showing their OWN passion for MAS.  Votes only count so far.  We need "endorsements" (their word for comments).  Contact anyone who has sent you a thank you note for a package and get permission to post their thank you as an endorsement.  THAT is how we will win this thing.

I contacted someone and got the following message back with his permission:  "Donna, absolutely you can use my post...I support you'all whole heartedly.  MSgt XXX"

That along with his thanks will go a long way towards helping us win the sponsorship, especially if we all get someone's permission.  We are a pretty mighty force to reckon with!!  My Dad used to say, "Don't ever, ever 'mess' with Moms!"

Hmmmmm.  I just tried voting w/ my 3 different email addresses and kept getting "sorry, but you can only vote for this application once per day".  I wonder if they started using cookies.  I'll try again tonight from the laptop.

Are you sure you logged out after voting yesterday?  I forgot to one day and they blocked me for the following day!  Won't do that again.  You might try just loggin in and then out, then try once more to vote today.  I also think the site is a bit fickle.  They probably didn't expect the deluge from Navy Moms!!!  LOL

I had to log in to place my first vote.  Logged out, and in w/ email #2.  Error message.  Logged out, and back in w/ email #3.  Error message.  I'm about to try again now from the lappy.

Well, it's possible that logging in automatically registers your vote, but I swear this morning the number didn't change.

But it did tonight!!!  478.  Let's keep rocking this ladies!!

Let's start a pool - how many votes will we have at the end of the 90 days?  (and no fair putting in your guess on day 88!)

I'm going to say 7,683

Its NOT 90 days...voting for round 5 ends...May 27th, that is voting for Round 6...Tell me about it, confusing YET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AS we all know, this is NO LONGER a surprise but for sure we need to continue to vote, PLEASE moms vote....this money means MORE SHIPPING to our DEPLOYED Troops...come on we have a little over 1000 votes..

we have 896 members here, I do know not all are active but also almost 5000 fb followes, I was truly hoping for MORE votes...come MOLLY's MOMS....vote vote vote vote and then vote some more!♥
