While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

February is the month of Love!
We have 3 groups from 3 different branches so let's show these heroes the LOVE they deserve!
ARMY is our first group, 48 males.
The have a shared microwave and have running water. They spend long hours inside vehicles and have asked for the following:
Baby wipes
Energy drinks
Vitamins
Snacks - Wheat thins, jerky and protein bars were suggested.
They can also use DVDs - comedy and action and they have the ok for pillowcases.
NAVY is our second group. 14 male, 1 female.
They are Crash & Salvage onboard the USS Kearsage.
They are the fireman of the flight deck. They work in a very hot rigorous area and are always in hot suits ready if a plane crashes. They are constantly dirty due to aircraft oil, fuel etc. They have access to a microwave and washer/dryers. They would like:
Laundry soap and fabric sheets
Body wash
Razors
Deodorant (Old Spice but I'm sure any will do)
Snacks, sunflower seed, trail mixes, gum, peanut butter, peanut butter crackers, and
cheese crackers
Spam, Tuna
Water flavors n water bottles.
They only have 2 vending machines for 3500 men and women onboard the ship. They can only use issued pillowcases.
COAST GUARD is the third group. 25 males, 3 female.
This group is RAID (Redeployment Assistance and Inspection Detachment) team. Their mission is to assist DOD with the safe re-deployment of containerized cargo as well as the storage and segregation of hazardous materials. They make sure all troops are able to get their belongings home when they redeploy back to their home unit. They are subject matter specialist on the Haz-'mat and the proper shipping procedures of containers to make sure they are seaworthy for all the equipment and soldiers belonging returning home. They have all volunteered for this deployment. It is made up of NYC Firefighter, Law Enforcemnt officers, Chemist, and numerous other professions. He states "We have taken this great opportunity to give back and know why we are here for various reasons. We have also taken this opportunity to better our health and well being by eating the right foods." (So lets not send any candy or junk food.) He also stated "Not sure if you have seen in the news. Termination of some food services will be implemented 01Feb2013. So this will be greatly appreciated." They live in CHUs but travel and stay in tents. No microwaves or refrigerators.
They (sailors/soldiers) are asking for:
Protein bars- any
Fiber bars- any
Protein powder- EAS, gaspari, on gold standard, muscle milk
Kashi bars- any flavor
Kashi-go Lean Crunch Honey Almond Flax cereal
Jerky, nuts, sunflower seeds
Peanut Butter
Laundry pods- Tide
Fabric- Snuggle or Bounce is fine
Shaving gel- Gillette
Head & Body wash- Dove, Axe, Old Spice
Cottonelle Flushable Wipes
Coffee filters (8-12 cup) basket style
Pillowcases are welcomed!
So we have 3 groups, 2 in need of laundry supplies, 2 groups always on the move and all needing snacks. Lets help these heroes get cleaned up and fed!
Please make sure when sending laundry/hygeine products to send them seperately from any food products as the fragrance will transfer to the food.

Wow! Lots to do this month!! We will need a number of packing parties. I'll talk to the moms in MA and also see what the S. New England Moms want to do. I'll let you know.

Thanks Donna! I just can't imagine living in the conditions these heroes live in. The Army group says their missions in their vehicles can last from hours to more than a day. If giving them baby wipes to bathe with and snacks to send with them helps then we will do this.
The Coast Guard travels from FOB to FOB doing their jobs and living in tents.
The Crash guys wearing those fire suits to be on the ready have got to be sweating all the time. The luxuries of just bathing and wearing clean clothes, right? -

WOW - 1 month, 3 groups - is this another 1st.
When is the proposed ship date(s)?
I'm doing pillowcase tie-dying tomorrow with my sisters and nieces - this is a first for me - want to see how talented we are and they can help out with pillowcases. But I will put it out there and see if they are interested in helping out with a packing party.
Donna we can talk. I'm putting myself out there again.

Dee, yes let's talk. I'm up for getting together with some special friends! It gets boring - go to PT twice a week, and then doing the same exercises everyday! Let me know when, where and what... No, I won't leave you out there. Count me in as your "partner in crime"! MA Navy Moms need partners. We lost Sheryl, so we will just have to form new ones!!! LOL

I have a bunch of body wash, but not the specific brands requested. I think I have Suave. Do you think I can send it anyway? It's not girly smelling.

That will be great! The Navy group hadn't asked for specific brands and the CG only did when asked if there were specific brands. I'm sure these groups will appreciate anything! Thank you!

Kim, are we doing group boxes or individual?

I would love for them all to get an individual box with their own letter. I think there's just something special about the ones who don't get mail to be able to open a box knowing it was just for them. If anyone wants to send individual boxes just mark on the box INDIVIDUAL. Since there are only 4 ladies total, they should be marked FEMALE. I will let the POCs know that there are individual boxes coming if someone wants to send like that. I will start a count of how many of each kind of box.

After the Tampa packing party, there may be enough boxes that each hero may get their own box!!
