Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

January's adoption- greetings from dry and dusty Djibouti
Hot and dusty is how it was described to me by my POC . He leads a group of Marines, Airmen,sailors and soldiers who provide communications all over the Eastern side of Africa.
Their WISH list is really very simple .They still have another 8 months in their hot ,humid and very dusty conditions . With 8-10 hours of sunshine a day they are not in need of Winter woollies that's for sure ! The majority of the personnel are married and miss family comforts ,of a letter or painting from their kids . They have plain white metal walls in their accommodation and offices ! For most part French power units of 220v , so not sure how the request for coffee makers will work out . Other than adapters .
Let's show them all some Navy Mom love ,as their pacakages will arrive in Febuary , and help make this deployment go by faster for them .
CLEANING PRODUCTS. This was first and foremost on his list . The sand and dirt gets into EVERYTHING . So ANYTHING to help with DUSTING !!!!

I haven't heard anything, but ironically, I paid for priority shipping on a few of my boxes and it took 14 days just for the box to get from my local office to the military PO. It shouldn't have taken that long - so I'm guessing my boxes are just now arriving in Djibouti.

Hi staci
No I haven't had any communications with Tim for a week or so now . But hey , No news is good news !!
I did have a terrible sinking in my stomach when I got back from my run this am . More like a Oh crap ! Did I not mail theses correctly moment ! I thought I had had my 5 boxes returned ,but no it's my corpsman in Italy, sending all his books ahead of him :))
He has finished his 2 yrs in CAppodachino , outside of Naples and is going RECON . So will be up the road abit for a few months at CLJ . One happy momma -

I've been waiting to give good news about the Green Mountain Coffee request. But nothing. Not even an email saying "no" with why not. Nothing!! I'm so disappointed. I felt that between Huskerfan and me, we had made an excellent case for them to support us. Fine I won't buy their coffee. hehe I don't buy coffee! But they don't know that.

Thanks for all you and Huskerfan did on the coffee front , I had not luck with green Mountain . Boston's Best or coffee for less . Kind of disheartening .
Still no word from POC either :(
