Pat, I hope the box of hand-made cards, small flags, notebooks, Nutty Bars, & candy make it to Romania! I just mailed it from the Main Post Office here in Jacksonville, FL & they (including the Post Master) are unaware of the "New" customs form. They said that they thought it was for "Express Mail" only and did not include "Priority" mail, but have not yet received any new custom forms for either. Praying that my box makes it there!
The last we heard, Angela, is that the change has been postponed to August. Your box sounds wonderful! I don't know how close we are, but I now live in Fernandina Beach.~Carol~
Thanks for the info. I should not have been so quick to throw out all my blank forms.
We probably live less than 30 miles from one another. I'm on the Westside of Jax.
I threw all mine out too. Had to stop at the post office Monday to get just enough for a couple of months. I know a lot of people use click n ship.
Thank you Angela!! I'm sure it will get there just fine! Once it hits the military PO, it's all good!
This post office thing is driving us NUTS! After I originally got the letter from the USPS, I spent about 2 hours at our Regional PO. They knew about it but spent a lot of time calling around to see when the 2976-R would be available. No results! Our tax dollars at work..........right!
Our 2 main concerns are that our heroes won't get their goodies and that our wonderful moms will get a box returned and waste their hard-earned money!
Pat, I use the main post office here so I feel good about them making sure I use the correct form. Their response was, "We use the new form when we receive it". I'll be sure to let you know when they actually do! Thanks.
My post office is nice, but weird.
Thanks please let us know!
My 6 pillowcases are packed and will be mailed on 6/23. Somedays you just go small, but you STILL go!
VFW Auxiliary Post 2057 of Rocky Mount NC just mailed 3 boxes. Filled to the brim with smiles and love. We included letters from our local 4H kids and a box full of hand-made cards for our Veterans to send a note home from them. All so included some notebooks and a few special things for ladies. We are proud and honored to work with all of you - Keep up the good work.
Fabulous! Thank you so very much!!!
You write beautifully. I can see the pictures in my mind. thanks
