I am the Mom of the Month for our March adoption of the USS Fort McHenry which is currently on deployment in the Arabian Gulf.  As you may have seen in news recently, these sailors have been extremely busy on this deployment.

The ship has a lot of people that work out so anything like Proteins, slim jims, beef jerky, workout magazines, snacks, popcorn, puzzle books, sport stuff, candy, and anything else will be great.  There are 275 males and 75 females.  The theme will be Easter so we will include Easter candy and items even though the packages may arrive later than Easter.

Packages will be mailed the week of March 23.  The mailing address is located under MAS We Ship Love.

Please make sure you mark the package as being donated as part of Molly’s Adopt a Sailor.  The sailors also love personal notes of encouragement and thanks.

Thanks so much for spreading the word and for any donations.

God Bless and protect our Troops,

Tamme Suggs

I'm in! I'll get everyone started on pillowcases and keep the count in the We Stitch Love discussion!

We need to put sewing machines on the ships, and have the NUBS do crank duty making pillowcases.

Thanks so much Kim!

Carol, that is funny.  Please let me know if anyone has any questions.

Hope spring is arriving all over.  We finally have an official warm, sunny day in Charleston.   Please let me know how you are doing with our March adoption collections.

I will send a box of snacks and puzzle books for sure...will see what else I can come up with.

Thanks so much Valerie Jean.   I am getting nervous that it is so quiet.  I am trying to get magazines from a distributor that delivers to our grocery stores.

Hi Tamme!  Please clarify something for me; I make pillowcases for Heads at Ease so when we send them I send about 36 at a time. I usually send a box of snacks too.  I was under the impression that Molly's sends boxes more to individual troops?  I sent one in Feb with snacks, toiletries and a pillowcase, thinking it was just going to one person.  Are we supposed to send a "general" box of snacks that they all share or a box designated for a single person?  I have no problem with doing this either way so please let me know.  Thanks!

The boxes can be just sent to general.  Our contact sailor will distribute.  Thanks so much for helping out.

I have one box of sweets going out. If they're like my sailor even the most devoted to the gym looks for a sugar high every now and again.

Thanks so much, CruAnn!  Oh yes, no matter how much they are workout conscious, they will love candy.

Tamme, I was planning on sending a jug of protein powder directly from smile.amazon so I save on shipping. If you talk to the POC could you see if that is something they would like and if there is a particular brand or flavor they would like? I will also have a variety of Kind bars, individual packages of olives, nuts and trail mix. I do Subscribe and Save on amazon and I get those delivered every month to send. And of course PILLOWCASES!
