Hi All

Summer is coming and remembering last summer as the time I spent with my head in the trash digging for bottle caps. I was thinking of ways to alert the world as to what we do. Because we all know that grants don't  last forever and the way we show love they won't last long.

We really need to advertise more

Knowing that MAS wanted to start having a banner to ship every month and not wanting them to spend money on it. I volunteered to coordinate a monthly banner.

I will not be "in charge" or making the banner every month. I am just going to be back up if it is needed. MOM will be in charge and will, just didn't want to put one more thing on a person, because we all know not everyone likes doing the same things.

So if you have any ideas, what to work on one ....please let me know

Did you get my pic?

I did dear ....I sent you an email telling you I loved it .......I'm sorry didn't you get it?

I really need to start folloeing up in the ones I send from my phone. I don't think the sent if I 'm going thorough dead zone...

They will LOVE it ......I''m going to down size the future ones a bit, unless of course I do another country one ....it was 6'x5' lol

Love the idea of a monthly banner.  What are they usually made of?

I made mine out of felt.  I traced and cut out all the letters; they were felt too.

I think they cane be made out of many things ( not paper). Mine was duck cloth and felt. I going to start on another one with all the states to have as stand by so if anyone would want to work on a state or two just let me know I can send you the state template And the states are just cut out of felt
I wil post pictures of the first one
Momby do you want to post the one you just made?

Yes, I will post it.  I was going to wait until later this week when the first shipping date hits.

great idea

Where did you get the State templates? is it something that be found at the craft stores. What type of things did you put on each state?

Would you send me your Massachusetts and Virginia templates and I'll see about getting some so you have on hand.

It's been ages since I've done any crafts and never to this level - awesome job.

Where do you ladies get all your energy - I'm getting tired just keeping up with the posts.

Dee

Dee--what a good idea.  How about if some of us representing certain states help make that state's part, and then mail it to a central person to assemble?  Just give us size specs, and let us know where is the best place to look up and enlarge our state on, say, felt.

I was trying to see what Lauren was putting on each state and how in order to get a better frame of mind of what I'd like to do.

I was thinking of using the State colors for the felt background and then just adding various symbols of what my State is known for.  So I goggled Mass State Colors and got a list of all the States Symbols for Mass and VA and now my mind is just exploding with ideas of additional symbols.  As I said I've never done any crafts with felt - Lauren are you drawing and super glueing the stuff on.?

Lauren, I'd like to help too.  I tried to get a better idea on what and how people decorated their states.  It looks like some may be drawn on and other times it looks like something is made from another fabric and glued on.  Can you give us a little more info on how they are decorated??  I will need to go shopping next week to get what I need so it will be ready before going into the hospital.

Dee, great idea about doing our own states!!  I have decided to just pick the last state I lived in -- just so long as we have MA covered.  lol

So Lauren, I will take NH, NY and ME.  This will be fun!  I can do it after my knee is replaced and limits are set on what I can and cannot do.  Doing crafts will never be on that list!  Well, maybe if I worked with power tools ... like that is gonna happen.  bawhahaha

Another question, can we use glitter?  Also, a couple states look like they were signed, do you want us to put our names on the states we do??  Cause the ones I picked are kinda little and don't have much room.
