Moms/Dads/Families with Nukes in Ballston Spa, NY

Wanted to start a group for moms, dads, and other family members that have Nukes currently attending Prototype in Ballston Spa, NY.

Members: 169

Thought I would start a group for the families of sailors stationed in NY for Prototype. It will be nice to chat about what is going on with our sailors whether it is good or bad so that we can support each other. I have connected with many people on this site but it is always nice to meet others that are going through the same things together. Also if you have had a sailor in NY for an extended amount of time then you can help the new ones just coming in on what to expect.

Hello BlueRockSailorMom... Congrats to your sailor, two-thirds of the way through Nuke School! Ballston Spa is a beautiful area and your son will be there at such a wonderful time of the year. My son is an EM and graduated there in January (not such a lovely time of year) we did go visit him in August and enjoyed doing some sightseeing in the area.  Best Wishes to your sailor!

Mom B I am praying for your son, and am believing God has something special already prepared for him.  To even get in the Nuke program and through the hard A and Power schools, he is very intelligent, and I am sure will do well in what ever he chooses. God Bless

Good luck to you and your son Mom B sorry to hear that.

well guys this will probably be my last time on here my son is being released from the Navy he almost made it all the way thru prototype but the stress level won. They moved him to Groton and now they tell him there are to many people in the Navy and he is being cut. He said he is going to try to fight it but the Navy will do what it thinks is best so wish us luck in the civilian world and pray for your sailors it was an interesting experience

AHRN.com is the military approved housing website. Also, have your sons/daughters contact Pom with Navy Housing when it comes to rental questions/issues. They will even read over your lease before you sign it to make sure that the military clause is clearly stated and nothing else seems odd. It's not uncommon for landlords to put clauses in their leases that basically 'boot' tenants out of their properties to make room for race season out-of-towners.
