For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Thought I would start a group for the families of sailors stationed in NY for Prototype. It will be nice to chat about what is going on with our sailors whether it is good or bad so that we can support each other. I have connected with many people on this site but it is always nice to meet others that are going through the same things together. Also if you have had a sailor in NY for an extended amount of time then you can help the new ones just coming in on what to expect.

NewNavyMom I think your soldier is a Sailor, but now I might be mistaken. Lol.
Their work at prototype is classified I do not talk to my son about his work activities I talk about his friends and other stuff like video games instead. I just ask how is work going and he says it is going all right, and that is the end of it. Obviously as parents we want to hear they are making progress. We are planning to go to his graduation.

Hi there! My soldier is in SOBC in CT right now. He is heading up to Saratoga Springs at the end of October for Prototype. He doesn't know when that will begin. The cue is pretty long. Anything you can tell me about any of it would be very appreciated! I would love to know about the graduation. I would love to be there if I can when the time comes.
I am new Navy Moms. Is there anyone on here who was in Charleston for power school Class 1202?

annemarie, my Sailor will graduate the 28th also, but we will not be able to attend. Would you be at all willing to take a photo of my Sailor at the ceremony? If so, please send me a message and I will give you more info to help locate him. If not, no worries...congratulations and enjoy the ceremony!

Here is another mom wanting to know about grad on the 28th of Sept. Do we need invites to get in and what other identity info do we need? We almost were not allowed to attend Power School Grad because since the invite was just a computer print out and nothing really official I didn't have it with me.

Yeah !!! my son finally got his leave approved and is home for 2 weeks he is still on Grad hold but it sure us nice to see him he was told he should class up in October
