Proudmama - I like the chart idea, it would be so helpful with everyone is such different parts of the pipeline. Hope all is going well for your son in A school.
My son is settled in San Diego, on hold until SERE later in July. "On Hold" is better there than Pcola was, he is working at a job, logging flight hours and that seems to occupy his time better than cleaning and re-cleaning did when he was on hold before. He likes SD much better except the traffic and he says everything is much more expensive but he goes surfing almost every evening/weekend and says the weather is perfect everyday. I don't feel too bad for him.
Tiffany/Heartstrings - I would absolutely take the day off and stalk the helo if you could! Sounds like a great day to me :-)
Jodi - Congrats to your son on earning his wings. Can't wait till we get that far.
Good luck to any and all who are currently in RSS. If anyone is going to P'cola for RSS graduation, I never was able to get a photo of the plaque where they list the "Honorman" receipients and I would really like to have one if my son's name has been added yet. Apparently it takes a while. Message me if you're going to be in the school and would be willing to shoot me a pic. Thanks!!
Tiffany/Heartstrings How lucky are you? To live so close to where your son is currently stationed, I am so jealous lol.
Proudmama. It sounds like he's still learning but it's more like on the job training I guess. He is loving it out in San Diego. He says he's with a great squadron and really likes the guys he works with. And of course he's close to the ocean so he's continuing to learn how to surf. He gave us a few days notice that he passed the board but since we were just down to JAX two months ago for his FRAC graduation we didn't go to the wings ceremony. Someone took video and pictures so I did get pictures.
Proudmama- A chart is a great idea! One I should do too. Yes he is in FRS (Romeo/Jax) He says next week is SAR week so they will be doing jumps. I work in Jacksonville and have to cross the bridge everyday that they do jumps by. I have seriously thought about taking a day off and taking our boat out to try to watch and take pictures.
Is that bad?
Lydia- I pray everything is going smooth for you. Hopefully you can give us a quick update soon.
Ridgegirl- How's your son doing?
Jodi- Congrats to your son and his friends for earning their wings! I celebrate with you!!! Does this means he is "officially done" with his training? Although, from what I understand...they are never quite "done"...but I believe he is fully qualified? Did he know he was about to receive his wings?
Tiffany- is your son in FRS or is he finished with his training?
I really think I should start a chart to keep up with where everybody is in the pipeline!
Beth- how is your son handling "the other side" of the pipeline now that he is an instructor?
Lydia- thinking of you as you are moving into your new home! Party at Lydia's- !!! (hee hee) Seriously, wouldn't it be wonderful if we could meet somehow once a year in some "central" location?
My son is in A school (Romeo).... the school that just keeps on going and going and going....
How is everybody doing out there? Is anybody impacted by the recent world events?
Ridgegirl- Congratuations hang in there.
Jodi - Congratulations that is Awesome. I hope you were able to take lots of pictures.
My boy is in Jax and starts flying this week. He is both nervous and excited.
Yesterday was a great day for my swimmer. He and the two friends who graduated from JAX with him earned their wings. I am so proud of how much they have accomplished in the past 2 years!
End of week 2 for my ARSS Candidate. Moving right along. He is reporting good things!
Jaxietwo-I'm so happy for your son! Well deserved...:) I had the honor of meeting Jaxietwo's son...what a nice young man! You did good mama!
Bayswan- wow... it seems like just yesterday that our boys started this journey together. I hope their paths cross again sometime! I know it is harder for that to happen when one is Sierra and the other is Romeo. I hope you get a chance to go out to San Diego and visit him. Be prepared for Post Traumatic Separation from San Diego disorder! It is hard to leave that place!!
Ridgegirl- I'm sure your son will do well! He has worked hard, demonstrated determination, and feels ready for the next step! Best wishes to him! I will light my candle tomorrow for him!
Lydia- I know your life is on fast forward right now!!! I'm so excited for all the exciting changes in your life...and to have your son back stateside... I'm sharing your joy! I agree with Jodi, what your SIL does is amazing!!! Seems like that is just part of your family description...service, loyalty, and supporting others!
Hope all is well with everyone....and their sons and daughters wherever they are in the pipeline!
