For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Hey all! Hope everyone is doing well and your swimmers keep advancing.
When I spoke with my guy a couple of weeks ago he said he had been studying for his Crew Chief quals, and had a 'murder board' scheduled for the next week (from what I gathered, this is a pre-qualification review to help with the study portion of things) anywho - he did the murder board and passed his Crew Chief quals! He was a bit worried, as he said, if he didn't pass them he wouldn't be allowed to continue as a swimmer. I had no doubt he would pass, but then I'm his Mom. =)
He also mentioned that they were headed out to to destroyer hops - just taking people from one boat to another and landing where they really weren't intended to land, as the destroyers are much smaller than the carriers. All in a days work, I guess.
Right now he is enjoying Pensacola - which has always been his preferred location. I wish the sunny weather would head my way. I am tired of cold and wind.

Hello everyone - I have an update on the grandbaby situation, IT'S A BOY!! Xavier Jameson, arrived on the 7th, weighing in at 10.1 lbs. I spent the last week with the new family and everyone is doing well and he is fabulous. This makes 5 grandsons for me and as my Dad said, now we have our own basketball team. =)
Hope everyone else's New Year got off to a great start as well!

Congratulations, Melissa, on the SIL's graduation....and the new addition to your family. I'll just bet those 12 hour drives were pretty enjoyable....it warms my heart to think about two siblings traveling across the country together catching up on each others' lives. It will make good memories for them! Our swimmer flies out Sunday morning....trying not to miss him while he's still here! :)

Hey ho everyone! Looks like everyone is keeping busy and your son's are moving along nicely. Congratulations on the graduations and moves. If anyone ends up at HSC 8 or 15 at Coronado, let me know. I happen to know a couple of people there. =)
The last few months have been busy for me - my daughter was here for 6 weeks while her husband was at OTS (Air Force). Then I helped her move down to TX and get settled into her new house there. Her little brother - my swimmer - flew into TX and drove her back up here a week later for Thanksgiving. We had the whole crew in, with the exception of the son-in-law at OTS. I had my swimmer for 10 days, which was fabulous, then he drove his sister home and flew back to SD. Such a nice brother he is to add two 12 hr car rides to his trip so his sister didn't have to spend the holiday alone.
My SIL graduated OTS on 11 Dec, and was commissioned as a 2nd LT and then made the 2 day drive to TX. So now they are just waiting for the arrival of their first child - expected any day now. Yippee and grandson number 5 for me!!
I hope you all have a fabulous Christmas holiday - those of you who are lucky enough to share it with your swimmers, hug them tight, time with them is precious. Those of you who aren't, know that all of us are thinking of you and them and wishing them happy and healthy and safe this holiday season and always.

Congrats to your son mtnestr for passing SERE! I know how worried I was when my son did SERE. They always have interesting stories to tell about that bit of training! Enjoy your son over the Holidays! I'm just hoping to get a phone call for Christmas!

Congrats mtnestr! It's been awhile for mine but I do remember those days. My son is currently on deployment on the Truman.He's been gone 2 weeks and I miss him! I've got a ways to go tho before he returns.
