Well, the time is upon us, my daughter is suppose to leave next Tuesday for the hotel and leave on Wednesday.. Is she really leaving? I hope so, but still holding my breath. She joined the end of February, and has been floundering ever since. She did manage to finish the semester of school and then got a job for about 6 weeks but then she quit, I guess she thought she had enough money to see her through until now, when she rarely is at home and runs around with a boy all the time. She has been spinning her wheels since this time last year, went off to school, quit, came home, went back to school here, then joined the Navy. We feel this is the best decision for her, just hope she will follow through with the commitment she made.....

Congrats on getting her off. Yes, if they have a date it is set. She will be leaving on Tuesday. Unless she backs out. That can happen until she gets to boot camp. Good Luck. Boot Camp is a ride by its self. Be prepared to not hear from her after the 30 sec. call that tells you she made it for about 2 weeks. It will be long and we will be there for you. It is so nice to get that first letter. When you get the box. Leave it for a few days until you can handle opening it. Some moms cry over the box. It was not that hard for me.
We don't want her to back out, so that the problem, just want her to follow through with her decission.
Keep her heading in the right direction. She will go. It will be good for her. Just help her with getting her to work out as much as she can before Tuesday. Most of the new recruite don't pass there 1st pt. So the more she runs the more it will help her.
I hope you're right, thanks for the support! BTW, when will the 1st pt test be? 1st week, 2nd?
I think it was with in the 1st week they are with there group. So if they group doesn't start right away it could be longer. If I remember from my daughter doing it. It is in a hot, hot gym. So have her be prepared. It was like they were causing them to fail. She did not have trouble because she was working out with the Marines for 4 years before joining with the Navy.
only good thing about that is we live in Texas, so very hot here!
So then she will be use to the hot run.
Congratulations to you and your daughter. The transition is difficult for both of you in the beginning. I think if she is committed to leaving on Wednesday, she will. My daughter was in the same position two years ago. Boot Camp was hard but she found friends, staff and family were extremely supportive in every way and she wasn't about to let anyone down. She has had her ups and downs in the past two years as with anyone in any job. We had a going away party for her before she left and I dedicated the song "My Wish For You" by Rascal Flatts to her and I still cry every time I hear it. She has been deployed for the past 6 months and should be coming home soon. She is my hero. I am so very proud of her and you will be too. My best wishes to both of you.
She has left to go to the office. We will go over later to have the Last Supper! We will go again in the morning to she her sworn in, hoping for a great send off!
Hugs, Charlee. I know this is an emotional time for you. Remember we are here for you as you go through the BC experience.
Charlee,
My daughter left for boot camp on August 17th. She is in Ship 6, Div 948. Do you know what ship and div your daughter is in yet? Stevie
Haven't heard anything :( No KIB or letter yet. When did you hear??
