Hi Everyone,

I am new to this website, I have a SR 17day's into RTC.

I am not new to the Navy Family, I have a son that joined just after 911 also.

But having my Daughter in training is killing me...

Maybe because with my son I know he can handle himself, and if he was to get yelled at, I don't know it's just different when it's your "little Girl" it's been the longest 17 day's without hearing from her.

Then today I got my first letter and I cried!

She is doing well, and much to my surprise she is handling it very well...I'm glad 1 of us is.

her PIR is 1/13/2012 and it seems like a life time away. My son laughs at me and tells me Mom she's not a Baby anymore! And I told him oh you are so wrong you all will always be my Baby's  no matter how old you get.

If any moms in here got daughters in Ship-11 Div037 I would love to chat and maybe support each other.

It just around the corner!  Best to you and your sailor!

I know the feeling..my daughter is in the same division. However, somewhat to my surprise she is having the time of her life. I know she loves adventure, so she is taking to the lifestye very well. Yet, through her letters I have watched her grow up from afar. I can not wait to go see her graduate, in her unform and hug her. But it will also be bitter sweet, because I know I wont see her for a long time. I will be able to talk to her on the phone, but still seeing is better than hearing her. I think it might be a little harder on us moms sending our baby girls into a world where they are trained to fight in wars, because they are just that...our baby girls. I have been going through the same emotions on daily basis. I have been following many conversaitions here, and it has helped me out alot....Congrats...by next week, we will have graduated to sailor moms...

Hello Sailor Moms!

I don't want to candy coat anything.  Just cherish and enjoy the time you will have once your baby girls PIR.  Since August I've seen Olivia about 6 days.  She is still at Pensacola for school and I'm hoping to get to Pcola one more time before she is shipped off to her base or carrier.  It gets easier but I sure do miss my time with her.

All the best,

Lisa

I just want to send congratulations to all you Moms who will be attending your daughter's PIR soon and welcoming brand new sailors to our fleet.  I can relate to how you are feeling and many of you have the proper insight but yes, having those sad feelings of watching our little girls grow and leave to live their own lives is hard on us Moms!!!!!  My little girl has been gone for almost 4 years now.  I've seen her 5 times since she left, most recently I got to visit her in WA over Christmas.  What I've learned in all this is that we have remained as close as always but it certainly is on a different level.  I have accepted the fact that even tho we are still very close, our relationship will never be what it once was.  She will never come home to live with me and we won't be able to spend countless days spending time together.  I always have to share her now with her husband and her new life.  I'm not complaining at all - I think what I'm trying to say is our little girls will never be our little girls again and we have to learn how to fit into their new adult lives!!!  She will still call me when she needs an opinion or to share happy or sad news, or just to chat about her life.  And when we do get to physically visit I cherish each moment and get all the hugs in I can!!!!!  Be available to always support your daughter, keep in mind that the time will come when she will be telling you about a problem she is having but you won't be able fix things for her.  She will have to do it on her own.

I wish all your daughters the best success in their future endeavors!!  And Moms, just remember - you are not alone in your feelings and the sadness you go through.  You do have a wonderful support system here when you need to talk.  Enjoy the journey along with your sailor girl!!!!!!

BTW congrads to y'all. I felt like I was reading about my life with my daughter. My son says the same thing to me he's been in the Army 8 yrs.  My daughter has 24 days left.  It seems like I'm missing her even more lately, probably because we were always together.  Her PIR date is 02/03/12 Ship12 Div.058

If anyone has a daughter in Ship12 Div.058 I would love to chat and support eachother.

My daughter went through boot camp back in 08 and is now out of the Navy!!  (However, I still have a son serving and another daughter in an officer program looking forward to attending OCS later this year)  My veteran daughter is also a Navy wife and a civilian contractor with the Navy.  I STILL miss her like crazy.  Even if she is no longer enlisted, she still belongs to the Navy and is on the other side of the country from me.  I can still relate to how you miss your sailor girl.
