Pat,
Yeah, me too!! We have our little heater to help keep the living room warm, although it's not that cold out. Right now at 10:00 it's only 35 degrees.
Luckily I made a couple of meals the last couple days so we have leftovers for the weekend. I don't have to cook at all!!! And hubby's taking me out on Sunday so I don't have to spend time in the kitchen until Monday!!!

Blondie,
Sounds like you really have had a crappy day today. I'm with Pat - you need to go home and have a nice warm bath and relax. It is just a job - you don't need it to destroy your health.
I worked at a high school in GA for several years as a secretary and after my boss and his wife had their first child I found myself being a babysitter many times. It wasn't bad if I went to their home(and they paid me) but it would bug me when they brought her to the school and I'd end up having to watch her - especially when I would have to stay after hours because he was having a faculty meeting and I was stuck watching the child. Sometimes people just use other people and don't realize it. And I couldn't find a way out of being used!!!
Oh well - enough of that!!
Joanne,
I know you are really happy to have your girl back on US soil!!! I am very happy for you.

Waiting for snow to come tonight. We are supposed to start getting it after 10pm tonight up until about 4am. Don't plan on having to go anywhere tomorrow so that's ok!!! Shouldn't be too bad and they are calling for all snow and no freezing rain/snow mix!!!

Joanne,
Praying she gets "home" safe and sound!!!
Good night!!!

Pat, I hope that you don't face a layoff. You are wise not to worry until necessary, which it may never be.

JAS, our granddaughter grew up in Florida and southern California. She came to college in Maine, near us. She would often tell us that we had to know she loved us because she was putting up with the cold which she did not like. Then after she arrived in Pensacola she laughed and said she missed the cool weather. She found the hot, humid Florida weather over powering. Guess some are never satisfied.

We have been kidding my SIL and telling her that she should move to Maine ... warmer temperatures and less snow ... at least this year.

Today is a sunny, pleasant day. People are beginning to think "spring" but there will be more snow storms, I guarantee.

Blondie,
Glad to see you back and that you're dug out!! My girl got sent home early on Tuesday when they closed the campus down and she was happy because she didn't have to take a big OChem test. A few more days to study for it!!!
My son and dil are stuck in MD. Jeff hasn't been to work in DC all this week!!

Pat,
That is cold for you guys!! Sorry the money isn't coming in for your business. Hope they can hang in there!!!

We need some prayers for a couple Navy families that are stranded in DC and cannot get to their sailors PIR this weekend. DC is just not equiped to handle this much snow all at once.
dmarie,
Is Chicago closed down also or are they keeping up with the snowfall? I feel so bad for the families that are trying to get there, and those trying to get out of MD and DC.

dmarie,
Be careful up there with all that snow. Did you feel the earthquake? Living in southern CA for several years we had two earthquakes during that time. Nothing really big tho and I'm glad this one did not appear to cause any damage.
Does anyone on here have sailors at GL right now? I wonder how they are doing with all that snow.
Comment by JazzyJ on February 10, 2010 at 2:01pm
Gosh that means our girls and guys could have felt it too, anyone going thru battlestations probably didn't notice.:) Anyone leaving for PIR - be careful and have a great trip and visit with your sailors!

Daughter in OH called - they closed U of Akron early because the snow was starting to come down pretty heavy. She didn't have to take an OChem test so she was very happy about that!!! Expecting at least a foot of snow for her!!!

Good morning (almost afternoon)! Had to go have my teeth cleaned today. While not my favorite activity I'm always glad to have it done.

Blondie, I'm like you in that warm weather I'll leave to others. I also love the sea shore and ocean. Sometimes when it is a rough sea, we will go to this point and watch the waves for a while. Earlier this year, it was too rough to do that safely ... actually washed a couple of people off the rocks and a little girl lost her life. The point where we go had waves so high that a few people were hurt even though they were standing in the parking lot, a considerable distance away. I would have loved to see the storm but I'm not that crazy!

NavyMom, DH and I were discussing snowmobile trails on the way home from the dentist. We just don't get sufficient snow for snowmobiling. Now if I lived up in northern Maine, it would be tempting to have a machine but not here.

I do get to watch wildlife here and really enjoy it. We don't see as many deer close to the house but up at the farmhouse they are out more. We have seen evidence that there is a moose around but have never seen it. We do have bear but I have not seen one. DH has. I really like living in the country!
