NavyMom,
It's a crazy mass of feelings I'm having with this. I am glad that the two of them are doing quite a bit of talking to each other about goals, plans, finances, all kinds of things that as parents we want our kids to think about before taking that leap. It's not all about just this moment or place in time but the rest of their lives. And I'm glad that she has someone with her to share with, and help her make decisions about her future. But the idea that this is just one more step away from needing me!! I know we'll still be close and all, but I'm no longer a major player in her life!!!! I guess I've taught her well to go out and acheive her dreams!!!! :( I am happy for her but missing her a little bit more now!!!

Well, don't know how ready I'm going to be for this. I had a really nice, long chat with daughter's boyfriend last night. He is a nice young man, and seems to have a really good head on his shoulders. I do believe there is a ring coming in the very near future!!! He said he was about to make a jewelers day today but also wanted hubby's phone number!!! Why do they grow up so fast??!!!!

Janice,
I'm Pennsylvania Dutch & Irish but my hubby's family is pure Hungarian. I have so many of his families recipies. Yes, I got hooked on Bachelor a couple seasons back and I don't know why because I think it is crazy. But I do like Ali, Tenley, and Gia. Vienna needs to be run over by a steamroller!!!!
Enjoy these next two weeks and just spend time with your daughter. Remember we are here for you when you need someone to talk to. One thing I LOVE about this group - there is someone on here every day. Some of my other groups will go for weeks before people start talking again!!!!

Joanne,
Hungarian stuffing comes out very dry after it is cooked. Basically it's one egg per column of crackers plus one egg, and enough water to make it like oatmeal. It has to be stuffed into something to keep moisture in or it comes out like a rock!!! We use it to stuff porkchops, meatloaf, chicken, turkey, etc...

Blondie,
Is the medication helping you? I think NavyMom is spot on with having to give meds a month or so to see how well we like/dislike them. Patience is a tough thing tho' - we want results and we want them now!!!!!

Joanne,
Hungarian stuffing is made with saltine crackers ground really fine, mixed with dried onions, parsley, eggs and water.
Glass of wine sounds good - watching the Bachelor and waiting for Castle!!
Good night!!

Blondie,
This soup is definately a two night meal. Biggest problem is trying to make a small amount. It would serve our family of 6 for two nights plus some lunches!!! And yes, I plan to keep out a small dish of the BBQ for my lunch tomorrow. You and I think alike!!! That's scary!!!!
What's in the crock pot?

Good Evening everyone!!
Sorry I haven't been here in the last couple days. Catching up today. That and cooking up a storm. Hubby decided he wanted an old family recipie chicken soup for dinner that calls for a whole chicken stuffed with hungarian stuffing and cooked with veggies. It's a two course meal as you strain the soup first and serve over tiny pasta and then serve the chicken, stuffing, and veggies. Sure does smell good though. I'm also cooking BBQ beef for a potluck luncheon he has at work tomorrow.
Schools closed today and tomorrow because snow packed icy roads are still causing troubles here. During the day it's nice and sunny but still cold. In the sun the snow and ice melt to slush but then freezes overnight. Tomorrow they are calling for freezing rain!!! I think I'll stay in AGAIN!! Getting cabin fever tho!!

Jane, I can't imagine standing in a cemetery with the wind blowing off Lake Huron. I remember once walking near the Field Museum in Chicago on New Year's Day and the wind was blowing off Lake Michigan ... I froze! And at least we were walking.

Blondie, you are right ... winter funerals always happen on the coldest days! Your description of your grandma sounds like what they do here. Probably the frozen ground explains why so many are cremated here.

It is sunny here, Pat, but it is also cold. So it is a good day to stay inside where it is warm.

Oh - and two livingroom end tables with lamps!!!
