Aww Jaydee659 such an adorable picture.. I actually smelled all her clothing, it smelled just like she was in the room, she uses a body spray from Victoria Secret, my other daughters looked at me like I was nuts, but it made me feel close to her and I cried..
That box of personal belongings holds so many emotions. I waited to get it then sat and cried with every item I took out. My daughter wore some of her favorite items up and asked me to launder them and bring them back up to her when we came for PIR. I laid them on the sofa and her dog jumped up and laid next to them all night. Poor puppy still doesn't get it. She runs to the door when she hears the boyfriends car hoping he's brought her girl back to her.
Hello! I am a newbie here, thank you for the warm welcome! To be honest with you, I never thought I would find myself on the Navy For Moms website! I have a son who is currently serving in the US Air Force and when we went to his graduation from basic training, Amelia told us that she was NEVER joining the military. Here we are one year later... We spent this past summer looking at colleges and she found herself frustrated, none seemed like a good fit. At the beginning of August, she went to the county fair with her boyfriend and it happened to be military day. He had been seriously considering the Navy for quite some time already and his recruiter was there in a booth. Amelia talked to him (the recruiter) and things just seemed to click. She told us she was really interested in learning more about the Navy. At first, I was upset because I felt she was doing this because of her boyfriend. He talked about how they would go to bootcamp together, have the same jobs, etc. Amelia and I had long talks about how this was not going to be the way things would work out. Long story short, it turns out that she is really doing this because she wants to, not because of her boyfriend. She has decided to apply for the NROTC scholarship (finishing up today actually!). Her boyfriend is going in enlisted and swore in last Monday. It's been a whirlwind these past couple of months that is for sure! Even though I have spent a lot of time reading about the Navy, there is so much I don"t know. The one thing I do know is that I am proud of Amelia for making this decision to serve her country. I look forward to getting to know all of you better!
Good morning Blondie - welcome back! I'm starting to not like weekends. Spent all day Sunday hoping and waiting for my gal to call, but nothing. Will be glad when she's out of boot camp! Hoping maybe they will let her call me on my birthday. At least when I'm at work there are other things to focus on.
