cjbmom glad your daughter made is Safely, please keep me posted on how she likes it, what phone she gets, internet, ect. Mine will be there in a couple months, Shes in MA A school right now.
Good Morning!
Anna,
My baby girl made it to Bahrain safely, got there this morning to start her new career as MA (Master at Arms).
She will be there for 2 years, not sure when she will be able to get leave. I don't want her to worry about coming home - it's far and expensive! I will be able to talk, text, skype...etc.
Hi ladies, I don't post often, but I read everything about you and your girls. I don't know how you all keep everyone straight with who, what and where. It makes me dizzy trying! I think I need to take notes! I will say that I put all of you and your girls in my prayers each night, and that I love to see all of the pictures that you post. You ladies are definitely THE BEST!!! :-)
So, I had to give you a quick update on my daughter. She is a nuke, and she passed her oral boards! :-) That means she is a fully qualified MM. Even better, she was chosen to be an ELT (the chemists)! They measure the radioactivity and the ph balance of the reactor's discharge water, etc. Anyway, she is happy, and that makes the Momma happy!
Hugs to all of you!!
Julyasmom,
Oh I am so happy for you and your daughter!!! How time does fly!! So if you haven't already, pack her cell phone, laptop and all the chargers. She will love spending time in your hotel catching up with all her friends. Also, my Catherine wished we had brought some sweatpants and tops for her so she could take off her uniform while hanging out in our room. She was in her whites and was worried about it getting wrinkled and possibly dirty. Oh, don't forget lots of tissues!!!! You will not be able to stop those tears when you see them all march in!!!! Good luck, safe travels, and be sure to drop in after to tell us all about it!!!
hellraiser,
I feel for you Momma!!! I was lucky that my girls haven't gone overseas yet, but I've dealt with my son being boots on the ground in Afghanistan plus several other deployments. You learn to live for those emails and rare phone calls. Of course I have to share son with wife and daughter but still I made him promise I'd get an email at least every other week saying that he was still alive and kicking. Wife heard much more often and she'd let me know if there was something that needed passed on. I'm sure your daughter will keep in touch with you much better than the boys do!!!! Will be keeping your girl in my prayers - keep us posted when the time comes!!
cbjmom,
That info goes for you as well. Will she be out for the whole two years? Is she going on a ship or a deployment to another country? I'm sorry but right off hand I can't remember what she does. Only share what you feel comfortable with. Keep us posted, and as Blondie said, both you and hellraiser have to keep in touch and let us help you through these challenging times. No one understands better than a fellow NavyMom!!!!!
Catsmom,
So glad that the work situation is looking up!!! How can they not see all the good you can pull off with a little cooperation from them!!! Glad to hear daughter is doing better. Hope she can get the rest she needs with the baby. Is hubby pulling his weight?? Hope the car situation isn't serious. One of our hydraulic connections that was repaired came undone as we were traveling to our next stop. Luckily now hubby has the knowledge of how to fix it and we will have to keep and eye on it in case it is a faulty connector. Luckily the company that did the repairs is nationwide and their home office is in Florida, so if we have a problem we can address it with them there. Right now we are in Myrtle Beach, SC.
Jean,
Your weekend is almost here - hope you have fun this weekend!!!
Hope I haven't missed anyone. Have a great remainder of this week!!!!
