God Bless all you new NavyMoms, it's a tuff ride but worth it in the end.  Your daughters depend on your love and support. It's all we can do for them at this point (and prayers).  We're here to support YOU.  You're not alone.

Anna, sorry you're still having trouble getting proper care but glad it's coming around.

Hope you all had a good weekend and heard from your kids.

WE did a quick run to PA to welcome little Jace to the family.

JayDee,

Oh I hope your girl gets some good treatment for her hand.  I know that active duty military don't have the options to go to a civilian doctor UNLESS there is no specialist in her immediate area.  Is she still in SD?  Can she go to a Dr at Balboa??  Maybe she has to respectfully request a second (or third) opinion.  Just make sure she uses the RR phrase.  Drs can get bitchy if you question their abilities!!!!  Keep us posted!!

bkm4,

Your daughter sounds like a very strong, centered young lady.  My wish for her is to not burn out by pushing herself so hard.  My officer daughter is a super smart young lady and has her degree in Chemistry, graduated with honors. Then went to OCS for commissioning as an officer in the Navy.  She pushed herself so much I worried, and prayed so much during that time.  She went the aviation platform and that training had aspects that kept me up at night.  Giving up was never an option for her but I can tell you, I NEVER would have made it through what she did!!!! Our girls just amaze us with what they can do when they have their goals in sight!!!  I hope your daughter gets that fulfillment she looks for!!!!!  Oh and she was in the marching band in high school.  Played the drums.  One year she played bass drum and never saw her feet on the ground the entire marching season.  Really had to rely on the fact that there was nothing on the ground she had to worry about tripping her up!!!!!  Hope you get that letter soon!!!  Mine always came on Thursdays also!!!  I was a mail carrier stalker!!!!

JayDee,

The hubby's brother, wife and son live in Round Rock!!!

bkm4, your daughter sounds very talented!  With that "wherever you need me" attitude she'll fit in well in the Navy.

I saw you joined us on Nuke Mom's too.  That group is essential for getting through the pipeline, they have all the dirt on the process!  I love this group though as there's nothing like that mother-daughter connection.

I saw on your profile that you're in TX.  My brother lives there and we've visited several times.  Retiring there is a possibility for me.  He's north of Austin.

She played the flute and picolo. She also learned alto sax and anything else the needed. Even took piano class when they had it. As for rating...well I don't remember. LOL. I know if I looked I would find it, but I am off to an extra long day at work. Small towns have their advantages and disadvantages. She is one if it comes easy then it isn't worth the effort. Happy she found something to push her.

Amen JayDee! Anna, keeping you in my prayers!

bkm4 congrats! Sounds like you have a very capable, wonderful daughter! Snail mail is horrible, isn't it? My daughter's letters always came on Thursdays. I felt like I was holding my breath every week until the mail arrived!  Yes, lots of support here from these wonderful ladies.

Have a great weekend everyone!

bkm4, wow!  My daughter is a Nuke also and she was in marching band in high school too!  What did your daughter play in band?  Mine was a clarinet.

It took about 2 weeks to get our first letter from our daughter and the first call was sometime just before that.  I started a letter on my computer and just added to it everyday until I got her address, then I mailed it to her.  Regarding letters, make sure you date and number them.  They frequently get them out of order and they make more sense if they realize that there's a part of the puzzle still in the mail.

Do you know what rating your daughter is interested in?  Mine wanted to be an MM as she wanted to work with her hands and keep busy and that is what she got.  She does like it quite a bit.  I will warn you, the Nuke pipeline is tough and all the kids are super smart.  That can be tough for some kids when they realize they're not the smartest one there.  They just have to focus on getting it done!
