GranmaFaye,

So happy you got to try it!!!  I first experienced Giodano's when I was on a band trip with my daughter's 7th grade band.  I was so impressed, I kept 2 pieces and took them back to OH and froze them for later!  Then when we got to live there I went every chance I could!!!!  Love their pizza!!!

Anna,
I did get to taste Giordano's pizza. It was great. My nephew told me to try it so I did.

ProudParent of 3 Sailors,

Yes it is, in Vernon Hills by the big mall.  I used to live in Waukegan for awhile but I've never eaten at a Dave and Busters!!!  Can you believe it!!!!

The two times I have went to PIR my sailors wanted to go to Dave and Busters. It is about 29 minutes from base.

mygod5,

Congratulations to your daughter!!!!  So glad you had such a long conversation with her!!!  Yes, the Gurnee Mall is just north of Great Lakes.  It's a pretty good mall.  There is also a really nice mall down in Vernon Hills on Townline Rd.  There are also quite a number of nice places to eat.  Gurnee Mall has a food court, a Rainforest Cafe, and the Gurnee area has a few nice places to eat.  And if you are interested, just west of the Gurnee Mall you can find the best Deep Dish Chicago Pizza at Giordano's.  If you can't find these places on your GPS or maps app on your phone, let me know and I'll send you the address.

DoubleNavyMom,

LOL you're sweet!!  We have lots of moms who do as much as I do but you are all so very welcome!!!  So glad that your daughter was able to check in with you!!!  In a way, isn't it great that they know things well before we do and in a case like that, they are able to check in with their families before we even know what's going on!!!!!

JayDee659 ~ love seeing those pics. Thank you for sharing!

Anna ~ Thank you also for keeping all of us anxious & proud Navy Moms going. You are the best!

New Moms ~ welcome & glad you are benefiting from this very nurturing site. My linguist daughter is in a hazardous duty zone but she was able to call me in the middle of the afternoon to see if I was ok when she heard about the live shooter in Charleston. I was not even aware of it but it was bittersweet that the tables were turned & she was worried about me. Cannot say enough good things about our US Navy❤️
