So I've ben absent, was in VA for 10 days and then came back to a mess at home and work.  Just trying to catch up and stay a float.

I agree with Anna.   Thank her and hug her again for me too!  God bless them, what a nice surprise and I'm sure she needed that time in the car to readjust and reconnect with him.  God has a plan for her, hold on the ride is gonna be Awesome.  Please stay in touch, come back often and let us know how she is doing.  Praying for a full recovery and a new adventure.

Esti'sMom,

That is wonderful news, even if a little bittersweet!!!  Thank you for giving her all of our hugs, and please let her know that we are so proud of her.  It didn't work out but please tell her thank you for considering enlisted service!!!!  And what the heck - - give her a few extra hugs because she deserves it!!!  And wish her all the best in her future for me (and I'm sure for many other moms on here!!!!)

Ladies, wanted to give you an update on my daughter. She is now home! She surprised me Wednesday evening. Her BF picked her up in GL (about 4+ hours each way) on Tuesday... believe they got back later, so that's why we didn't see her until next day. It has been nice having her back... given the circumstances. I hugged her so much that first day... even extra for all the Navy moms!! ❤ I think she was starting to wonder if I lost it lol. We been sharing stories, and I told her how wonderful all of you are:) All of your support and stories have helped me greatly! Hoping she can begin the new journey ahead of her soon, and continue her healing.

JayDee,

I tried to find the story on the station's website but couldn't find anything.

Proudmom2017,

Many years ago when my son went to bootcamp, he was told he was a grad&go after PIR so he advised us not to attend his graduation.  After, he told us he had so much wait around time before he actually flew out, that we could have had a couple hours to spend with him.  He was one of just a few new sailors that didn't have family with him and we felt so bad for him!!!  This of course, was several years before Navy4Moms existed.  Now I encourage moms, if you can get to PIR without breaking the bank, GO!!!  Even if you'll only have a few hours after the ceremony, you will enjoy the time you have to just visit with them, hear their stories of bootcamp, and of course, get those all precious HUGS!!!!

Great response everybody!

Thanks Anna and JayDee. it was lucky to see her! So far she's somehow been in several ship photos - we get teary every time.

So cool to have your daughter's ship on the news JayDee!  Gave me chills!

Proudmom - my sailor was in ship 12 in bc 2 years ago.

Good luck to all in bc, be sure to let us know when you get the "I'm a Sailor" call.

Prayers for everyone's success and safety.
