JayDee,
Lurking is always acceptable!!! :) Never know when someone will ask something and you have just the answer they need!!!
Was your daughter's ship story on their facebook page or a Navy website? I'd like to check it out!! And to hear from her too!! What a treat!!! Hope they use one of her pictures soon so you can see her in action!!!!
Smidgee,
So wonderful to have that communication again isn't it??? And to be able to visit with her together with family!!! Just remember, we'll be here for you if she does go off on deployment. We have some seasoned moms on here who have gone through that or are going through it right now!!!!
Sheri,
I just saw where you joined our group and I sent you a welcome message on your profile page. Then I see you posted on here!!! I'm so glad you are here!! We have a few things in common - I have a son-in-law who was Air Force Reserves but is not current right now, and is also an EMT Paramedic/Firefighter!!!
If you haven't done so yet, look for PIR groups of the same date as your daughter. You will meet moms who have sons or daughters graduating that same day. Also there are usually groups for each Ship/Div at bootcamp and you should join those as well. Let me know if there is anything I can help you with!!! And welcome to this amazing journey - - sometimes compared to a roller coaster!!!!!
Oleander,
So happy you got to hear from her and then to see a picture of her as well!!! What a treat!! I'm guessing she is liking deployment?? It will be interesting to hear the stories she tells you after they get back to their homeport. My son was on two big ship deployments and he had some very interesting stories to tell us. Nothing I would repeat on here!!!! So glad you're breathing easier again!!!!
Hi Anna and everyone! Sorry for the silence on my end. Our girl deployed about a month ago. Since then we've been holding our breath but finally got word yesterday that she's out of a bad spot, then heard from her again today. What a treat! The ship even posted some pics and our girl was in one at mail call. Boy was it good to see her face!
Though I've been quiet, I've read everyone's posts and celebrated with you, prayed for you, and sent everyone love. Thanks for keeping us together Anna!
Where is everyone?? How are all our sailor girls??
Vannie,
So happy you got to hear from your girl, even if it was one of those short "business" calls!! Our poor sailors come down with all kinds of little bugs while in bootcamp! Hope she is able to fight it off quickly!
bbcregular,
Good luck on your mission trip and safe travels. I hope you do get internet so you can keep in touch with your sailor. Yes we need to keep our sailors (and all of our military) in our prayers. My daughter called me today with some news on her end but I can't share it yet. Makes me very nervous!
