Does anyone know what an anem does in a bootcamp division?

Division 005 got phone calls. Just finished talking to my daughter, they earned their first flag for getting a group total of 4.1 on their academic test on Monday. My daughter who is the division EPO said that they really need to start working together, she is tired of IT.

Pat, During the recent storm (Hurricane Bill) the people who were washed out off the shore were over near Thunder Hole on Mount Desert Island. Both Schoodic Point and Thunder Hole are a part of Acadia National Park, even though the bay separates them. There were several who were knocked down by waves on Schoodic and these people weren't even out on the rocks. Some were hurt seriously enough to need medical attention. The rangers did close the Park.

Now we have had several people drown off Schoodic. People just won't believe that the shore is a dangerous place and that you need to stand back from the edge. A rogue wave can knock your feet out from under you and the water action can pull you out. The water is cold and usually they drown. A year or so ago a woman was close to the edge, holding her dog and her cell phone so that a friend could hear the waves. The ocean got both of them. It would have gotten her daughter as well but someone on the shore was able to grab her. Just before H. Bill came, the ranger was warning people to move back. They would ignore her. So she finally told them, "Look, they don't pay me enough to jump in after you so if you would give me the name, address and phone number of your next of kin, I would appreciate it. Then I will know who to contact when you drown."

Blondie, I am so glad your sailor made it back safe and sound. Enjoy your visit. I wish you well on the big event. Take time to relax so you can enjoy it.

Went to the onc. this morning. Great news ... blood work good and she couldn't feel anything that shouldn't be there. I was a bit concerned because my neck has ached quite a bit lately on the side that had the aggressive stuff. We decided it was probably just the nerve endings from the biopsy. I have about a four-inch scar across my neck. Don't have to go back for three months so I'm doing the Snoopy Happy Dance.

Went to the local high school. They prepared a sign to have a picture taken for Molly's DVD project. To hype them up, the local Navy recruiter arranged for the Navy rock band to perform. They were very good ... very loud but very good. The kids loved it! There was so much energy. Afterwards we did the photo and they wanted the rock band to join them. The school was photographing it as was I. The principal introduced me and told the students I was responsible for getting it to happen. Well, that was only partially true. I requested the photograph and worked with the community service director to give her the information. Someone at the high school took the ball and ran with it. I liked the fact that the principal told the students about Molly's project and that it was not about whether or not anyone supported the war effort. It is all about supporting our troops in harm's way. All in all, it put me in a great mood!

Then my husband and I took a drive along the bay to Schoodic Point. It is a granite ledge that sticks out into the ocean. It is absolutely gorgeous today. The sun is out and the bay/ocean is a marvelous blue. It is calm and colors are intense. When we came around and long some of the harbors, the lobster boats were brilliant, their reflections shining on the water. Most boats are white so the contrast of the bright white boat against the dark blue of the water was impressive. Somehow the colors on the coast can be more intense than elsewhere, espcially on a clear day like today. I sometimes try to imagine being deployed on a ship. I have sailed across the Atlantic twice and enjoyed it. Somehow, though, being at sea for months at a time might be a bit much.

Have a great afternoon.

That's about when I expect some. Can only cross the fingers and stake out the mailman, poor guy.

Hi Ladies, Watching my Angels. But being the stalker I am I had to poke fun at all the turkey talk. No letter today but really didn't expect one, but I can only hope. Other divisions in her ship have received phone calls but from what my girl says her div is only working at a level 4 out of 10, so will have to be happy with the chance of mail. Back to the game, talk later.

Pat, A few pages back, you mentioned turkeys are stupid. Those turkeys aren't too stupid. They have my husband well trained. The peek in the window where they know his desk is and gobble at him. He gets up and gets corn to feed them. If the males move in and take there food, they find him to complain.

NH Mom, I joined Facebook to keep track of my grandsons. I am amazed what they put out here. I think they forget I'm a friends.
