SailorsLImom my daughter is a Nuke. She just finished prototype and reports to her first duty station next week. It's a crazy ride, hang in tight.

Our daughter's in Basic Training now...no word since phone call 2 weeks ago.  But she sounded happy!  So glad to find this group.  Daughter is a nuke!

JayDee,

Yes we are going to St Ignace after we visit Ishpeming where we bought our trailer!!  Hope to go to Mackinac Island.

Anna will you be stopping by St. Ignace? My great aunt owned the only B&B there in the early 1900's.

There's a restaurant in Duluth called Granny's that's very good.

Safe travels

Sorry I've been silent for the past week.  We were in a little campground in Wisconsin and had no cell service and no internet service!!!  My husband has a knack for finding these little hole in the wall places, but being out of contact for several days is tough!!!!

Welcome Melissa, and all our new moms!!!  Sorry I didn't get your welcome messages sooner!!!  Looking forward to hearing from all of you and learning about you and your sailor!!!!

We are making our way up to Michigan's Upper Peninsula again to visit Copper Harbor.  It's at the end of the little finger that sticks up into Lake Superior.  There also is no cell service or internet there so I'll be silent again for some time.  Right now we're in Duluth, MN and I hear the Blue Angels are here this weekend!!!  I hope I can at least see/hear them!!!!

Welcome Melissa.  That's pretty much our whole lives now. LOL  You are not alone.  HUGS  There are a lot of videos to help you understand what is going on at Boot Camp.,  I believe each PIR date has a group and then there's specialty groups (Japan, IS...) and of course us Moms trying to help each other through.  There is a lot of good advice and news here.  Have any immediate questions ask away, someone here can help.

Thank you and your daughter for her service.

MamaLyd,

Thank you for dropping in!!!  I told you we had some supportive Moms on here!!  And some good advice - start writing letters now and number them so when you can send them she can read them in order.  Writing helps you pass the time and, I think, it makes bootcamp time go quicker!!!!   Feel free to ask all the questions you have - someone here will have an answer - - maybe a couple!!!!

ShawnMom,

Congratulations to your daughter's graduation from A school!!!  Where is she off to next?

Vickyrun,

Awesome news!!  Congratulations to your Sailor Girl!!!

Oleander,

Enjoy, and give your girl a big ole NavyMom hug from me!!!
