Ohhhhh Blondie -- I know you're100%  right! I just haven't experienced deployment yet which is why I said bc is the hardest part so far.  I'll be leaning on you wonderful ladies for support and info pretty soon though.

I spent my time also writing and keeping her up with news from home, school, town...our animals etc.  I also watched her favorite TV show for her lol  not my favorite and I'd have to say that guy....until I learnt to take notes while watching the show.  I made her a Prayer blanket, that helped and gave it to her to take to A and C school with her, she has it with her still.  We worked with our school and Church youth and just tried to stay busy.  BC is ruff we're not use to Not being able to pick up a phone or go visit them but I disagree with Oleander, Deployment was my nightmare. Definitely harder but you do get A & C school as a diversion before that.

Hugs to all

Hi Mommasgirl and Angela - yep, boot camp is the hardest part so far! Hang here with us, write to your girls, cry when you need to - everything's fair during these 8 weeks! We came through it and believe it or not you will too. Pretty soon you'll have sailors in A school and they'll be able to text and call. Until then, we're here for you.

Sending you and your girls a big navy mom hug

Momma'sGirl and Angela,

Welcome to both of you, I'm glad you're here!!  Yes, as Sar and JayDee said, it is hard - especially because we have little to no contact like we are used to!!  And mail just seems to take sooooo long!!  We all find different ways to cope - I cried a lot!!  Whatever you find that works for you just know that you are not alone, and there are many Moms on here that are willing to listen and support you!!  Best of luck to all our girls in Bootcamp now!!!!

Mommas Girl and Angela it's a hard 8 weeks but you too can do this! I was so lost as my sailor is my baby and we are very close. I helped pass the time by writing. I started a letter on my computer each Fri morning and would add my thoughts and news from home. Since it was on the computer I could copy and paste pictures and news of the band. Not only did she get all the news but it also kept me busy.
Definitely join the PIR groups on N4M. They are super helpful! Hang in there!

It is hard, it gets easier, with letters and a phone call, and so rewarding when you get to PIR, Hang in there, join your PIR group on Facebook, and you may connect with some moms in her division. Hugs.

My daughter also left Wednesday March 29th. I did receive the call that she made ok and I am still waiting for the box and first letter. I pray everyday for all of our babies off at boot camp and wish them the very best but it's going to be a week tomorrow and this is way harder for me than I thought. Lol
Worried mommy. Any information and advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Xo

Hi momma! My name is Margo and my daughter left on March 28th. We received her box today and waiting impatiently for our letter. Feeling out of touch a little. Never gone this long without talking to her. Any advice would be appreciated!
