Morning everyone.
Well, today's the day - my sailor goes underway. It feels like bc all over again. She sent me a little snap this a.m. and whispered "hi mom". Can't wait to hear all about this adventure when she's back in 10 days. Prayers that all the training goes well!
Have a great Monday everyone.
Congratulations Tricia on getting so close to the beginning of this wonderful adventure!! I'm praying she will do fine at BC and the time will go fast for you, but the reality is that time will now c r a w l by!!!! But mysailormeg stated it best - write everyday and look forward to that glorious graduation when things start to really look up!!! Keep here with us and we will get you through!!!!
Thank you lsb!!!!
wow mysailormeg she sounds like my daughter. Just need structure and I am so happy she has the opportunity to go travel, make money besides fast food.. I give these kids so much credit to do this.. Thank you ladies for your posts
Edwards 19 - I survived boot camp and promise that their school time is much better! We text, Facebook and FaceTime often. It's amazing! I did write every day while she was in boot camp. It was not always easy to have paper, stamps and be in the proximity of a mail box but I did it. She thanked me for that and said she didn't really like the weekends because there was no mail call. I never dreamed I could love her more or deeper but when I saw her at graduation and spent the day with her - and then seeing her at the airport with her new friends, I can tell you that it just gets better and better. Talking to her now from Pensacola is just as good. She is really loving it and coming in to her own. She was always a good kid and we've always been close but she was kind of lost...didn't do well in school and was just struggling and digging deeper working a minimum wage job...anyway....so proud of her and so thankful for this amazing journey!
Morning all.
Oh Edwards 19 - believe it or not you'll look back on this in a few months and won't believe how fast the time in bc went. But for now it's probably going to feel like every week is a month long. Big picture --- she's going to succeed and you're going to be so proud! Write her every day, it helps a lot!
yes it s so bitter/sweet Just have to get her through BC and half my anxiety will go away
YIKES!!! 2 days to BC for my daughter
