Hi everybody!

Back from a fantastic Mother's Day weekend in San Diego with my sailor : )  She took me out Saturday night to a fun spot, we had Mother's Day brunch at a favorite restaurant on the water in Imperial Beach, then spent the rest of the day shopping, walking the San Diego marina & park, appetizers at sunset and then spent rest of the night tucked into our room watching favorite movies. Great memories. We were given flowers just about everywhere we went - she got them for being a dog-mommy, so cute! Yesterday morning from the window in my room I watched several Navy ships leave port, one had sailors manning the rails. What a thrill!

Sounds like everyone had a great Mother's Day - yay! Anna, that sunset, gorgeous! I've never been to the Keys but it's on my bucket list. I haven't been to the River Walk either JayDee but my husband has and says it's fantastic. Great story about your daughter's friend, it IS a small world!

Blondie it sure sounds like you have your hands full. I hope this week is more success, not just surviving. You are one busy lady! wow.

A's mom, my daughter requested her makeup for pictures & PIR too, but only specific things are allowed. If I remember correctly, she was able to have foundation, mascara, eyeliner, and I think a neutral shadow (not 100% sure about the shadow). For PIR she did all of her friend's makeup LOL. She's such a girl.

Here's the panorama view  our room, luckily we were on a high floor and could see all the way south to the hills in Mexico, Coronado Islands, Coronado bridge, the Midway, Coronado Naval base on the other side of the bay - it was almost worth staying in the room just to watch all the action on the water!

JayDee,

It is a wonderful adventure and my hubby and I have been enjoying this decision.  One thing I will say is to make sure you and your hubby learn everything you can about your trailer and how to make repairs!!  We've had a few problems but nothing that has been insurmountable!!!  Right now we are having two hydraulic lines replaced because of repeated blow outs on the one line.  This was caused from the tire blow out we had in VA last September.  I don't think there are trailers available within reasonable costs that are made to be problem free (as with so many vehicles these days) but we do the best to take care of it and put up with the little nuances as they come along.  But we've had our share of landlocked homeowner problems too so it's just a different set of "home" problems!!!!!  Oh but the places we've been to  . . . . . .

Anna that's beautiful!  Sounds like you're having a wonderful time.  After spending the weekend with my husband in our camper I'm starting to seriously think about pushing him to sell the house and buy a larger camper so we can live in it.

JayDee,

Oh it is a small world indeed.  Did you get a chance to talk to the new Airman?  I love the Riverwalk there!!  Got a chance to visit it several years ago when hubby was on a job assignment nearby and the girls and I flew down to spend spring break there!!!  Awww the memories!!!!

Steph's Mom,

What a beautiful Mother's Day gift!!  That would be something to hang onto forever, if you're like me!!!!!  :)

A's Mom,

I did send some makeup to my daughter back in 08 for her pictures and PIR but only the stuff she requested.  They do get to go to the NEX if they want to just buy some things.  It's best to ask her if there is something she wants because she will know how much room she has to store stuff!!!!  Is her PIR coming soon?

Well we are in the Florida Keys, near Key West for the next couple days.  Spent the past 2 days in Key Largo.  Our campsite was right on the water and we had a beautiful view of sunsets every night!!  Tomorrow we take a boat to the Dry Tortugas!!!!  I hope I'm able to do all that walking!!!

I didn't send make up but was able to send her a small bottle of baby oil. I'd say that if you do try make them sample sizes. My daughters group was alloed to go to the NEX before PIR to buy make up. I had to laugh as my daughterhas never willingly put on make up but bought and wore mascara at PIR.
