Good morning all,

Had a very nice Mother's Day, hope you all did as well. My recruit wrote me a letter got it Thurs...woohoo and in it was a homemade mother's day card, brought a tear to my eye:

Roses are red

Violets are blue

Your the most awesome mother

And I love you

Sits on my desk next to the pic of her and I the day she left outside the recruiting office. Haven't gotten that special phone call yet,,,but my phone is glued to my hip. Leaving early early Thursday morning...

Have a great day everyone.

Anna sounds like you had a great day! My husband and I spent the night on the riverwalk last night and had a blast. My nice joined us for lunch. Last time I was in Texas she was in England submit was wonderful to catch up. My daughters conference called me and it was wonderful.

Funny story Lackland graduated a class yesterday so there were newly minted airmen all over the Riverwalk. I kept noticing one young lady everywhere we went. Turns out she was a good friend of my sailors in high school. They were in ROTC together and worked together. I didn't realize she'd gone Airforce. My sailor told me today that she graduated yesterday and had been posting pictures from the Riverwalk all day. Small world.

MBSMomx2,

So happy you got to hear from your girl!!!  I would say that now you can stop worrying for awhile, but who am I kidding - us moms worry all the time!!!!

I got to talk to three of my kids today and the deployed son sent me a facebook post!!!!  That's as good as I can get until he gets back home!!!!

Happy Mother's Day ladies, hope you have an awesome day! I got flowers and chocolate covered strawberries from my sailor, I just love that gal. The vase had a lace sleeve, soo my style. She thinks of everything :)

It is the Naval Air Station North Island.  We could see the sub base from there.  Saw some helicopters land and take off.  Also saw some Sailors training, my daughter thought it was cool, I almost lost my lunch.  So proud there are people to do what they do and my daughter wants to be a part of that.  The professionalism was outstanding and I shed tears of pride for all they do.

lsb,

Is that the base they used to call Naval Air Station North Island?  I know there is the sub base in Coronado and NASNI.  I was stationed on the Air Station before they changed the name!!!!

Hi Oleander, we visited Coronado Base, saw the USS Carl Vinson.  bigger than I thought.  Made me feel very small.
