While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Welcome Amom this group is great. We have a bunch of lovely helpful ladies. My daughter went to bootcamp in june. She graduate A airmen school Tuesday and off to virgina to the USS Esinehower.
I've been having a few health issues slowly working on. My anxiety got bad and it was plying tricks on my heart, so now I have to wear a heart monitor for a month. My back had been acting up so went and got the checked. I have disk degenerative disease and my l2, l3, l4, L5, S1 are all bulging and my pelvic has shifted. Not a candidate for surgery something I will have to live with. Was told to get an exercise ball and work my legs to strength the muscles in my back. I will have injection every few months to help with the pain. Today I just had my right bottom wisdom and my left bottom wisdom and tooth next to it cut out along with scraping the left side bone and getting the infection I had out. So I'm down in bed. Other then that south Texas weather is confused. One minute it's nice the next freezing cold! Hubby is home for a few days so glad he's here to help.

I've been watching national weather much closer lately. I know it's supposed to be freezing cold across the middle of the country. As long as cold is all I have to deal with, I'm ok.
So part of all the tests I've been getting at the local VA clinic here was an echo of my heart. Seems as tho it looks like some damage done but nothing specific yet. As part of that follow up they wanted me to do a sleep study to see if I have sleep apnea. So last night I had to go to the hospital in Gainesville, FL about 2 hours away, get all wired up and spend a night in a nearby hotel. But I had an absolutely lousy night sleep!!! Tossed and turned, couldn't get comfy, knee hurt all night, blah, blah, blah. So I wonder - - - what if they tell me I flunked the sleep study!?!?!?!

We got our letter..... OMG! This is one proud mom! She sounded great! Said she was making friends and has past her tests so far..... She said there food was good, except for the eggs... Lol! She has a recruit job - section leader. She stated it was alot of responsibility.... This makes me so happy, so proud, and so relieved that she is embracing this experience. Thank you all for holding me up, when I could not...

Blondie I think boxers are wonderful. Its exciting that you had a grand champion! This is our 3rd. We also have lab mixes to balance out the dog personality in our house. Our boxers mate came from a great line but he never showed well. In fact he was 3rd of 3 dogs in several shows so we started calling him the finisher. :) We did get 8 beautiful puppies though.

Thanks so much JayDee659 and Oleander for the support. All the envelopes are white. I read that somewhere before and made sure of it before I purchased the box. Surprisingly I'm doing well. I'm going to try and write daily. It does help me get through. Her rate is LS and she will be going to Meridian Mississippi after BC. I'm so excited for her. I've been exercising twice a day too to help me with the anxiety.

Hi AMOm! Welcome! Jaydee is 100% right, you'll look back on this time and won't be able to believe how quickly it passed. In the meantime tho we're here for you.
Just a word of caution on the cards -- any colored envelopes or stickers aren't advised; they'll make her stand out and during boot camp that's not always a great thing! This part is tough since you don't have communication. It helped me to write my girl a little note everyday. Made me feel like I was spending time with her!
Just think... tomorrow's already day 2!
