sarahsmom,

Oh I so hope all works out for your sailor daughter to be able to come home before her sister leaves!!!  Please keep us posted!!

It's no longer morning, so Hello Jean!!!  Glad to see your greeting back, I've missed you.  Oh I know - - - you have a life outside of Navy4Moms!!!

hellraiser,

Your daughter has just been tossed around like a small boat on rough seas!!!!  I hope her Navy life starts to settle down once she gets to her new school?  Can you tell us what school she is going to?  My daughter Jennifer was in training in P'Cola and it really is a beautiful place to be in!!  She will have lots to go see and do.  The Blue Angels are home based there but unfortunately they just did their last show for the season.  Jennifer and I got to see them from the beach when I visited her!!!  I had such a wonderful visit to the area. Keep the faith, her chit may very well get approved!!  And Virginia Beach is also a great place to visit!!  While her ship is in port I hope she gets some time to check the place out!!!

Oleander,

Hope you get better soon!!!

I'm so excited. I just talked with my sailor daughter. She can not get leave for Christmas so had planned to come in Feb. But her sister enlisted and leaves in Jan. She told me she may be able to get leave and be here a few days before her sister goes. They are very close and this is a surprise for her sister

Afternoon ladies, Well I heard from my Sailor today. Shes a little bummed. Her Holiday Chit was approved by 1 person in San Antonio For her to come home for the holidays but not the CO because she just got her reclass orders. Shes leaving next week to head to Pensacola FL. SHes going Airmen Undes right now. They told her her chit is transferable and as soon as she gets to flordia hand them her leave chit. So hoping they can get it approved. Her school Should start first week of Jan and last a few eeks.  After School she will be heading to Norfolk Virginia To the Aircraft Carrier USS Eisenhower! Ive heard from several people shes going on one of the Finest/best Aircraft carriers the Navy has. It's been a long 7 weeks since we last seen her so We went up this weekend and I took her to go watch her Sisters 1st NJROTC competition. It meant alot cause my Sailor was the Commanding Officer last yr and for the last 3 yr her sister always said i wont do that, its stupid, your annoying me when you practice inside and to see her in the program and loving it is just PRICELESS. We r going up Saturday  TO San Antonio for a day trip to see our Sailor just in case she dont get to come home for the Holidays. I can say this sure does suck!!

Morning everybody!

I've been down with a nasty flu/cold for several days and unable see how you all are.

Blondie, you're always soooo positive and helpful. But I can imagine you veteran moms sometimes have to take a deep breath before you answer the same question for the umpteenth time LOL! Just know you're like our guardian angels on this journey and we appreciate you!

lilnavymom,

I wish I still lived there in Waukegan, I would put you up for the night for free and give you breakfast in the morning before you head back.  I sure hope you are able to make it!!  If I had any close friends I'd ask them to put you up, but my only close friend I had moved to northern Wisconsin!!!!

1ProudNavyMom,

Oh these first few weeks just seem to take forever!!!  I hope you get to hear from her soon - especially on Christmas!!  Hope all is going well for her!!

You're welcome Oleander!!

Jean,

Where'd you go??  I miss your Good Mornings!!

Saturday was a good day, received my call, 1st call to hear my daughters voice. It was so wonderful and so emotional. I tried to sound happy and exciting to not cry and all I heard on the line was her voice breaking up and crying so I lost it, but happy tears to hear her that she is ok and that she misses up very much.  We had to clear up fast because of limited time, and had to get her personal stuff in order. And their Div is up for the Adopt a Sailor for Christmas, she really wanted us to come up to spend the day but only if it doesn't put us in a financial bind because we go back up 2 wks after for PIR.  Well I am doing everything I can to see if I can make it there even if I have to just be there a day, prayers that I can make this happen. From others stories dont know when I will get the chance to be with her on Christmas, so God will I can make it. In all it was a good weekend my heart is full of joy, I feel so blessed. Just can not wait to see my SR.

Good morning ladies!

Congratulations on your firefighter Anna!

Sarah's mom, lilnavymom, rolismom - sending you lots of love and support. These are our 1st holidays without our Sailor too. It will be so odd decorating the tree without her, cooking Christmas Eve dinner alone -- those things we've always done together, but the support and caring we get from this site will help us all get through the holidays.

Blondie - what a story! I'm so glad you and Anna are here to help guide us newbies through this unfamiliar territory! Thank you thank you thank you!

Blondie that would be awesome to see. I will definitely have her send us one where ever she goes. Thanks for the Idea.

Anna Congrats on Your New Firefighter. My daughter was a Volunteer Firefighter b4 she went into the Navy. My Husband and Brother are also Volunteer Firefighters.

Sarahsmom My heart goes out to you. I still have several yrs b4 I have to do this again. My 14 yr old is talking about following her sisters footsteps. She is a freshman and she was always tease and torment her older sister, saying i will never join ROTC nor the Military. Well shes in NJROTC and is loving it! Shes talking about going into the Navy, but shes not sure cause she wants to be a Veterinarian. Luckily we have a few yrs to decide. My Lil Man is Wanting to be a Navy Seal or a NFL player. Hes 11 so we still have plenty of time. Just enjoy every moment you can, I send Big NMH to you!
