For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Unbelievable that this worked this time. I have been wanting to comment often. Typed out a comment on my phone and it would not go. Now can’t remember anything only that I love reading from everyone.

New Moms - welcome. Love reading your posts. Keep us informed about you and your daughters.
All others- great to read about new births and adventures and promotions of our girls.
My daughter is still deployed. She likes her job but not her location. She does not know where she will be sent next May. She hopes it will be stateside so she can be with her new husband more they have been married 10 months and have spent 3 weeks together. Tough when both are active duty. They have the same rate CTI but different languages. That keeps them apart.
Hubby and I have been living in our RV since May traveling and remodeling our house to put it on the market to sell. It is a big job and hopefully will be complete before December. Sold all our furniture and now working on the little things. Soooo many books! We will be leaving to spend the winter in Florida this year then the true adventures start.

Jennifer2018 - yes they do belong to the government, but what an adventure they are having. I always have to remind myself that I raised an adult not a child. I am proud of my daughter and miss her terribly at the same time. You are right to come here and vent. We totally understand.

Anna, you're doing Great, just keep moving forward. Kicking my butt? haven't been able to do that for years! Unless your talking working hard, long hours and stressing....till I drop - Happens Every day. LOL
Bugsmom, hope you get connected to it's wonderful. Also when they get deployed you can get notifications from their ship :)

Got to the website for Recruit Training Command http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/graduation.html. On the right hand side you will see a link for live feed of graduation. I do believe PIR starts at 0900.

Congratulations on your sailor about to graduate tomorrow as well. I agree with JayDee, even tho I don't know anyone in the ranks, when I see those doors open and those recruits march in, I get goosebumps and tears!!! It's like I'm there watching for my girl all over again!!!!

You are so humorous!!! I just don't know how you do it!!!! Funny thing my physical therapists tells me when I walk I'm supposed to bend my knee like I'm going to kick my butt and then step forward on my heel. I keep telling her, no matter how big my butt is there is no way I can do that!!!!!!!
