JayDee does it bypass our security?  I can't leave the car run and run into the post office or bank. so wonder how that works???  since the keys aren't actually in the ignition????

Comment by JayDee659 on August 29, 2018 at 2:09pm

ShawnMom you understood correctly.  The remote start has a key fob that will start the car and allows it to run between 15 and 30 minutes (programmable).  About 15 minutes before I'm ready to leave I press the button and get things going.  If I leave my defrost on the night before the windshield is usually completely clear (unless we have heavy ice then it's mostly melted).  In the summer the a/c will run.  I frequently will walk to the end of my office closest to the car, start it, then by the time I hit the parking lot it's cool/warm depending on season.  It also helps when I leave the grocery and can start it as I'm walking across the lot.  Isn't technology great?

Sept. probably is too late, sorry.  Our weekend doesn't look to promising either. :(  Dog days of Aug and all, Sept. should be moving cooler. even if not, Oct./Nov is approaching Fast.  I heard you could do an add-on for the starter. sounds Wonderful!  So far I have my husband start it when he leaves for work, I leave 10-15 mins. after he does.  If he's ahead of schedule he even scrapes windows.  But after work would be helpful  :)  Retirement even Better!   LOL

Blondie, I wish we were closer as I'd love some garlic, onions & tomatoes!  Will be up your way late September but probably too late.

We're back up in the 90's with storms possible for the next few days and this weekend is suppose to be really hot.  Where is fall?

We don't have a garage for my car so my husband had a remote starter put in my car.  I just have to make sure I set the defrost where I want it when I get home in the evenings.  About 10 minutes before I leave for work I hit the start button and there's a nice warm, defrosted car waiting for me.  Heaven!

LuLubuug, it sadly never gets easier.  We never say good bye.  Just until next time.

Orleander, That is Hilarious!

Anna, great news, keep us posted

Spyder, hope you enjoyed/are enjoying your time with daughter. Make Lots of memories.

JayDee, we were in the 50's at night and high 70's by day. I Love the cooler weather.  I agree those car seats soak up the sun and they feel good on my back.  I do not have heated seats but they would come in handy in the winter or even a garage would help. lol Our temps went back up to 90's/70's and humidity is in the 90's everything is sticky!  and of course it's canning season, all those hot boiling pots!  UGG  today's high suppose to be 86 but dropping down tonight to 66 BUT tomorrow's high is 75 and 59!  can't wait!!!!!  but then right back up in the 80's and 70's at night but Fall is in the air. Anyone need tomatoes, pepper, onions, garlic, squash (3 kinds) melons.....?  LOL

4Gen & Jennifer, 2 more days!!!!  So Happy for you and Proud of your girls.  Get ready for the tears but then comes the HUGS.  Safe travels

Navy Mom Hugs to all

Just talked to my daughter and her orders are on hold.  She initially thought she would be home for a visit around Sept 28 but now more like middle of Oct before she has to go to a duty station.  She will remain in GL at OS school but when she graduates from OS school she will remain a little longer than in GL.

That being said she is doing well in OS school so that is good to here.  She likes the weather as well says it is much better than TX weather:)

I hope she joins JayDee.  If I get a new member whose daughter just graduated I'll let you know!!!!

spyder,

Oh I'd love to still be in Seattle area!!!  Have you ever seen Deception Pass??  I wouldn't mind those temps either, we're still baking here in Oklahoma!!!

JayDee,

It would be cool to see some actors or actresses!!!  Can't wait to see the movie only because it's another Navy movie!!!!!

Jennifer and 4GensOfSailors,

Congratulations to both of you for the upcoming PIR of your daughters!!!  How exciting!!! And that both of you get to spend the weekend with them.  You will have to try to get to Giordano's Chicago Pizza in Gurnee.  They are on the main drag past the mall.  Goooooodddd pizza!!!!!

Comment by Jennifer on August 24, 2018 at 7:32pm

4GensOfSailors, same for us, we will get to spend the whole weekend with our daughter. Her A-School is at Great Lakes too. Can’t wait to see her, it seems like she has been gone forever.  Received a letter from her yesterday containing a list of items she wants us to bring for her from home. I will have to repack her bag to get everything in.
