 Good morning ladies,

My sailor daughter graduated last month, but we made handmade cards as a family, even my husband  participate  and it made the time go by a lot faster. I even made handmade cards for the recruits that weren’t getting any mail and they were very appreciative.

Since then my Sailor  girl  came home a week ago and walk to  through the front door and yell “surprise.”  She left last Sunday to her new navy home and start her navy  career. I miss her all over again but I am a proud maybe mom and now she had her phone ....

JayDee,

Sounds just like Jenn had to go through.

Oleander,

Same cruise line but he just did the cruise up and then turned around and came back.  We cruised up to just below Anchorage, got off the ship and went by train and bus up to Denali.  Then the last day was in Fairbanks and then had to fly out of there.  We spent several days in Whidbey Island with daughter in law and granddaughter and then flew back to Oklahoma!!!!

Welcome back Anna! Sounds like you had a wonderful time!

My daughter had to pt in the sand at ROTC officer training. They were tokd to report for exfoliation!

Anna's back! Yay!!!! I'm so glad you loved the cruise. We had such a good time last year I want to go again, maybe go higher up into Alaska next time and incorporate a land tour. Did you go on the same cruise line as your son did last year?

Jennifer you are fortunate indeed! I actually got lots of visit time in during my daughters 2 years of school. She's back from deployment but they are underway quite a bit.

Comment by Jennifer on August 14, 2018 at 5:14pm

JayDee659, oh my I would and will most likely have withdrawals in that length of time. I am thankful her A School is at Great Lakes and it is not too far for a visit when she has Liberty.

Hello Navy Seasters!!!!  I'm back from vacation and attempting to catch up on everything.  I'm afraid I won't be able to comment back on individual posts cause I can't remember what I read!!!  LOL, took me two days to catch up on the posts - but I love reading each and every one!!  We got many new Moms while I was gone and hopefully got a personal welcome message to each one.  I hope I didn't miss anyone!!  I'm so glad to see many of you commenting on here and sharing of information.  JayDee and Oleander, thank you especially for filling in for me while I was gone!!

I've got to say - - - the Alaskan cruise was WONDERFUL!!!  I could seriously live on a cruise ship!!!  However, it is a floating restaurant and you could really overdo the eating!!!  Gotta get back to the gym and work off that vacation!!!!  Alaska is awesome and I did get in lots of walking so that helped!!

I will say one comment about the sandbox - - when I first read the question about it all I could think of was the extra PT officer candidates at OCS would get and they were usually always conducted in an actual sand pit.  My daughter would complain all the time about having to do PT in the sand, and it would get in their uniforms and they had to stay in those clothes until the end of the day when they could finally shake the sand out.  I was hoping they weren't doing that in basic training now and was happy to hear that it is an app!!!!!!  And yes, it can also refer to being in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Dubai.  Now I have to research on sandbox with 2 xs!!!

I'll have to fill you all in on some sailor news later on!!  Stay tuned!!!

Rhondal71 go to www.gshock.com and check it out.  The watches are water resistant, durable and do all kinds of neat things.  My daughter was so excited to get hers.  She said she had been drooling over them at the NEX and was close to shelling out the money to buy one for herself.

Jennifer, I'm so envious  of you, you get to see your daughter in two weeks!  I've not seen mine since January :(

Can someone explain the Baby G-shocks? I know its a watch, but didn''t know if it did anything special and if it was approved.
