Vikki,
Saying a prayer for sure. We have a showing next Wed - wished we had one for this weekend!! But I don't want a blanket of snow!! My dil said when she left CO there was snow. I told her I was talking to a mom from Greeley!! She thought that was cool - said that's where she had to go to find a mall!!!!

Ellen,

Thank you for the link above on the blue star. That is the same website that I went to for my pin and flag.

Good Evening - hope everyone had a good day today. I had a surprise visit from my dil this morning. She was just going to stop by on her way to Washington, DC but ended up staying here all day - left around 4:30. I am so glad she stopped by. Her and I never had much time to get to know each other because she always lived far away. But I think she's feeling much more comfortable around our family now so I am happy.

Mary,
I talked to Chris today - I sent him a text picture of his wife sleeping on my couch!!! He loved it. He said ChrisM passed but didn't remember his score. ChrisA said he got a 97 on his brief - they have 3 more weeks of school!! I can just see you being a great lifeline for that lady. I've seen a few meltdowns in my past also. It can be scary!! Bless you for being there for her.

Valerie,
Chris said he saw your son Wes the other day. He did not know that Wes was going to have to pick another rate. He said he was really sorry to hear that and hopes everything works out well for him. He said Wes may wait there in VA before going on to his next school or the Navy may send him to whereever the next school is and he will wait there until the school starts. I will send you a PM about selling the condo.

Rene,
Sorry to hear your daughter has a less than desirable job right now. I hope and pray she gets back to her old job soon. I too had a job I hated - actually the job I loved - the boss made it intolerable. I would get sick every morning when I had to get up for work. I held on as long as I could because I needed the benefits (and paycheck). Tell her I'll keep her in my prayers for strength and perseverance!!! I'm glad Jared gets to start C school Monday. How long will his school last? Is he still working on going active?

Jeri,
Don't you just love the freedom of communication you have when they finally get their phone back!!!!

Barbara,
Did B ever get in touch with my nephew? How is your son doing?

Kelly, That's funny! Hmm, maybe my car is not so dirty after all...maybe it's the windows!

Rene, thnak you for the thoughts and prayers. I'm sorry your daughter is in a posistion that she is working in such poor conditions. I know she needs to be working but I'll continue to pray that something better comes along for her soon. I'm happy for Jared that he will get to class up on Monday. Good luck to him!

I've still not heard from Chris so I don't know how he did on unit 10. I'm going to have to assume that no news is good news. (At least passable news)

Anna, my tongue has started to heal I believe. I thought a glass of wine might numb it a bit.
It was a difficult afternoon. As soon as class was dismissed we had a lady who for lack of a better term at this point suffered an emotional breakdown. I and one other student took it upon ourselves to talk to her while the substitute went in search of some professional help. Unfortunately the licensed counselor had already left for the day. The other student left but I stayed for about an hour and a half while one of the more experienced job counselors talked to her. It was a big help to her just to be a ble to talk to someone which is about all we could offer to her. We are going to work out some professional help for her on Monday. Until then I am going to serve as her lifeline if she needs it over the weekend.
Now I better understand what my family and friends went through with me a few years ago. It's a really tough thing to watch someone go through that. I believe they may find out that she is schizophrenic. (My totally unprofessional opinion). I do know how my aunt was though when she was diagnosed schizo. So I've had one glass of wine to smooth out my evening.

Valerie, I hope all has gone well for Wes today. I hope all is well for you too. Thank you so much for showing your strength and faith by your words and examples. It's good to hear (read) you laughing.

Have a great evening everyone!

Good night dear.
Good night all, have a good day tomorrow.
Anna! That hurts! (biting my tongue) lol

Mary,
Bite your tongue!!! I am so tired of packing/unpacking/packing/unpacking/packing ..... get the picture?!?!?!
We had several showings but no nibbles yet - not even the "are you kidding me?" offers!! But I keep praying every morning and every night!!! At least once the condo sells my next move will be to carry my clothes, pots and pans, and toiletries from the apartment to the trailer sitting out front. Then whatever little trinkets, books, etc that we have room for - last but not least - my kitty (ok she's almost 13) and that's it. Stop off for a few groceries and I'm set!!! Should be interesting!!!
Have a good night, Mary. Talk to you tomorrow,
Anna

lol, Anna, by the time you finish unpacking you'll have that condo sold and be ready to pack again!

Btw, you or Vikki either one have any bites from those peeks a few weeks ago? One of the girls in my class got an offer on her house three days ago. She thinks she is going to accept it. I've heard reports that the housing market is beginning to move again around this area. Good luck to you both.

Valerie, I'm glad they are going to work with Wes there at DN where he has already talked to the SSO, and has leaders who have watched him and know him. I feel that he will be better guided there than if he returned home first. I did not hear from Chris so I don't know how his week has gone. He called during the day today and left a message about some tax forms but that's all.

Valerie,
I'm glad you heard from Wes. Talking to the career counselor is a good step. I just hope they let him pick another rate and get into an A school right away. It would be really tough on him, I think, if he had to go home and wait for someone to make a decision. We know the Navy doesn't move fast sometimes but they need to stop jerking that young man around!!!
A blue star by the way is for anyone who has a servicemember in any branch of service. I remember back in the late 60's when my brother went in the Navy, my mother had a blue star sticker for the front window sent to her automatically. Interesting enough - when I went in in 72 she did not receive a star for me!!! Now they are available for men or women but they aren't sent out by the government anymore - you have to order them yourselves. Sometimes you can find them in a nex but not always. And if you ever see a gold star displayed somewhere - that means the serviceman gave the ultimate sacrifice and died in service. I will send you the website info as soon as I can.
Change of subject - funny you mention going through papers - that's exactly what I'm doing tonight!!!! Still trying to unpack boxes!!!!
Hope you have a good evening!! I've got to wrap up and get ready for bed. Expecting an unexpected visit from my dil, and her sister, who are driving from CO to VA today and tomorrow so she can live nearby Chris. Even tho' he has to stay in the barracks, she does not like the separation. She should be coming in around 6am and since she will be driving right past up they decided to stop by for breakfast. So gotta clean up a bit!!!
Talk to you tomorrow,
Anna

Hey Anna, tomorrow is the last full day of class. We have to make up two hours on Monday (snow the first of the month). I only have two assignments to do in the am for tomorrow pm. We will have a sub tomorrow as my instructor is headed for Norfolk tonight to see her son tomorrow!!!! She was nothing but bubbles all day, today. I don't blame her.
Job? I don't know. I tried to put in one application today at Pepsi but it cut me short and wouldn't let me continue. (I think they have a thing against hiring women.) I showed it to Regina and she wanted me to try under an alias as a man but they already had my social at that point. Otherwise I would have tried to see if it let me finish out the online portion. I've not gotten any responses from the others I've done, so the first of next week will be time for some follow up letters to let them know I'm still interested.
Otherwise, I'm out of class from Monday 10:00 til Thursday 1:00 when a new class starts. Off on Fridays this time around, and both classes are 1:00 -5:00, M&W and T&Th. This one has been a lot of fun though.
So Miss Anna, how are you?
