Anna, your memory is good! :) All it took was for me to read about the thin mints and suddenly my "sweet-tooth" took over. Now it's cookies, muffins, cake, whatever I can find tonight! I never should have gone to the store for those darned cookies! Now I have eggs for brownies, muffins, bread... lol.
Yes Anna, the boys (men) had the second test on unit 10 today and then the brief is Thursday. My Chris said tonight that he knows a couple he missed, but he is pretty sure he made better on this than on the first one last week. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and a prayer on my lips for both of them.
My instructor's son is coming home soon. He called home this morning, she was crying tears of joy all morning. Everytime someone looked at her she would start smiling and crying! She's not seen him since a couple of weeks before his deployment started last Sept. I asked her if she was going for homecoming but she said not this time but she and her husband will be picking him up to spend time with him, soon after the ships come in. We (our class) are all so happy for her!

Hello Everyone!

Well, the past week has been hectic for us. Our 'puter at home developed power supply problems and is now in the 'puter hospital - that's a HUGE reason you haven't heard from me!

Also, lambing is going full throttle. We have had super good luck so far - the grafted lamb and adopted mom are loving each other. The other ewes that have lambed out are doing well, as are their lambs.

Then, we have received more winter weather!! Just as I was hoping for SPRING!!!

We are located near Miles City - the place where Gus McCrae & the rest of the Lonesome Dove cast were headed in the book and the television movie.

Jessica & Emma made it back to Rhode Island this past weekend, just fine!!

No word from Kevin - going on two weeks now...hoping now that we have a borrowed computer to hear soon!

You folks will have to give me a few days to read through all the posts that I've missed!

Each of you, and your Navy children, are in my prayers!

Valerie,
Yes, I lost quite a bit of weight and kept it off for two years. Worked for Weight Watchers all that time - then God said "let her get pregnant again with twins!!!" And she did! End of story. I also had a thyroid problem years ago - almost died from it and was told I could never have kids again. That was when my first born was 2. Not only did I survive but I had three kids after that.

Mary,
I don't seem to remember any discussion on here about muffins!!!! ha-ha.

Patti Sue,
Good to hear from you again. How was your weather in Virginia Beach? When we went there it was cold and rainy!!!

I haven't heard from Chris yet - Mary have you heard anything? They should have had the second part of the test today - correct?!?!?!

Ok, Ladies...I've avoided the cookie talk all I can. Of course there are no more GS cookies to be had around here so I had to settle for Pepperidge Farm Milanos, thank you kindly! teehee. I was so good this year and only had 1 box of thin mints. : ( It was go get the cookies or bake another pound cake and NOT share it with the class this time.

Barbara, what pressure! To try and help these kids prep for interviews with Julliard? I know you are proud of them all. So...when are you hitting Broadway? :)

Valerie and Rene, I'm glad the psychological break seems to have done Wes and Jared some good. I do believe they need that from time to time. And it does seem to say a lot for today's military that our militia has a heart. These ladies and men may be grown up and have resources where they do not need home as much as they used to but just knowing that they still enjoy being there helps a lot. It's a comfort to know we are still in their hearts.

Anna, I hope our guys do well this week. I know it's a tough one for mine. He did sound pretty good last night when he called home. I wonder what's up with that? They all called home on the same night? Must be they roll up the streets and fold away the lights on Tuesday nights at Dam Neck? Mom was here for dinner so Chris talked to her. I only got the joy of saying, "Hi".

Dawn, I love the pics! I agree, those ships look pretty close! Be careful not to burn in the tanning bed!

Vikki, you can keep the wind! We had some this morning along with our cooler temps in an adjustment for tomorrow when it is supposed to return to a cold rain. I assure you I enjoyed the warm, sunny weekend we had. I even managed to put a new battery on the motorcycle last night. Now I can tell how badly I need new plugs!

Kelly, good to hear from you. Welcome if you've not already been welcomed in to the group before today.

I talked to Jeri a couple of times today. She is getting really excited about Kayla getting to Dam Neck this week.

I'd better go put the cream cheese icing on my pumpkin muffins. See what you guys have done to me? lol

Have a good evening everyone!

And that's for other rates, too - not just IS. As I mentioned earlier, Chris had to do that - and he was attached to a squadron when he was an AO - that deployed on a carrier.

Vikki,
Maybe we shouldn't keep talking about these darn GS cookies, but the Samoas are the chocolate coated, with the caramel stripes and toasted coconut. I like the peanut butter also - both the sandwich type and the chocolate coated - tastes like a reese's cup cookie.
And I won't confess how many extra pounds I've been carrying around for the past 10+ years!!!! But it's all on me - I used to be a Weight Watchers leader!!

Dawn,
So good to hear from you again. I'm glad your son's first cruise went well. I had forgotten about that cranking. Chris had to clean toilets - - - I'm sure he wouldn't have minded laundry!!!! How is your daughter doing also??

Vikki,
I had to save one sleeve of thin mints in my freezer because of lent. My daughter, Jennifer, and I got a box and ate half on Fat Tuesday. We had to hide the other half!!!!!

Valerie,
Glad to hear Wes is feeling so cheerful. Maybe he needed a little break altho' not for the reason he had one.

Hope everyone else is doing good. Anna

Jeri,
What fun!! They are so overloaded with options they haven't had for the last 2 months - they don't know what they want first!!!!
