Why not Dyon? We talk about grandkids, weather, cars, musicals, and jobs! Oh wow, I didn't think to find a copy of Phantom this weekend!!! Darn!
Well I hope Dyon's little lamb enjoys it's new momma and I'm sure both little lambs will be very fat and healthy not having to share milk! Have a good night.

Hi Mary (Chris' mom)!!

Grafting a lamb means that we are forcing an adoption of one lamb by a ewe not it's biological mother. Since the ewe that lost her triplets has LOADS of milk, instead of us having to milk her out, this new adopted lamb can do it. As is most often the case, the lamb is WAY more accepting of the new mother than the new mother is of the lamb. BUT, the new mother sure appreciates the relief of pressure off of her milk bag! So, given enough time, the graft usually works. The natural mother has her other lamb, so she's content now - she did miss her 2nd lamb for a few hours the day we initiated the graft.

Seems funny to be chatting about lambs on the N4M's site!!

Wow Dyon! Your weather in MT has been nicer than in NC! It's been a miserable rainy cold here for three days and to continue on for about two more!
Grafting a lamb, huh? I never knew that's how it is termed. Did the little lamb not have a mom of it's own? Or does it have two moms now. I never raised sheep so I don't know about post-partum depression in sheep. I had one goat and she was eager for her one kid to wean. (My dad was too, as "Billy the Kid" kept jumping onto the hood of his car)

Tooswife1, I felt a need to break from homework as my essay is not going well. I have a page and a half written but I'm not following the outline at all. Too many constraints!
Anyway, if you can show her the pics or if she signs on to the website and looks at their pics, she will find them. I'm sure they will be looking for her as well. She will likely be in the same barracks as the guys but in a different compartment area. She will share the same duty rotations as some of them as well. I did not know until the other day that Chris knows Jared but now they know that their moms talk. ChrisA and ChrisM both know Wes as does Jared. They just find each other by last names and we know them by first names but they do eventually know each other. The guys can go on and see her pic and they can find her. She will be pretty obvious since there are not that many girls there and they only get there one or two at a time so they will only have to find the "stranger" and ta-ta! it will be her.
ChrisM's hair is definitely shorter than in high school but certainly longer (and better cut) than in bc. He likes his short though. He just wishes he didn't have to shave every day.
If nothing else, mom, she will have plenty of guys around to protect her when anything bad happens. She will get along just fine!

Patti Sue, anything new on your not quite yet granddaughter? Are you going to get to go in July to see her after she is born?

Valerie: You are in my thoughts! I know tomorrow will be hard for you, but your good memories of your mom will certainly help. Give that sailor of yours a hug for me, too! And, he HAS to give you one in return!

Welcome Aboard, Carl & Irene! My son, Kevin, is a Intelligence Specialist Chief Petty Officer, currently stationed in Iraq.

Tooswife: All right Kayla!! Congratulations!!!

Rene: I have to laugh!!! "Money still works", I am laughing still ! Also, so good to hear that young, Mr. Jackson is doing well, and Mommy, too! And, ditto to Patti Sue's advice - Make the most of the moments you have with Jackson! I'm confident that Jared will fit in well with his new 'roomies', and with the class that he's assigned to when he returns.

We finally had a touch of SPRING here in E MT!! Our highs yesterday and today were in the 60's. The Y'stone River has had a jam for over a week at the main bridge in Miles City. The ice should go out today or tonight. I heard our weather forecast for Monday night - winter is going to try and make a comeback!

Our lambing season has begun - we lost a set of triplets in the wee hours of Wednesday morning, the temps were below zero! We have been busy this weekend grafting another lamb onto the grieving mom - and it seems to be going well.

Rene,
If his leave papers say he isn't due back until next week, then he has nothing to worry about. The feeling I get from these classes is that they all wait around until they have the correct number of students and then they start up a class. So they may have had someone else come through ready for a C class and that was the last one they needed so they took the ones holding and started a class. I don't think he'll have any trouble when he gets back. He may just be in a different class than the ones he was holding with.

Oh Anna! How slack! teehee! That sounds like something I would do. Actually, it being almost mid March I'd probably just leave them there now until next Christmas. I'm usually the last on the block to take down the Christmas tree. I don't know why I hate doing it so much!

Rene, If Jared gets back to VB in time, he will have to give the Chrises some pointers on Unit 10 before their test this week!

Wow, Anna does it seem like they should be that far along? I guess we'd better get to praying!

How's everyone else? It's awful quiet right now.
Hugs to everyone!

Valerie,
Glad to hear from you even if just a short one!! I'm glad you're hanging in there. You and your family are still in our prayers. Monday will be a tough day but I know you'll get through it - and you have that strong sailor to help hold you up!!!!
Tooswife1,
Congratulations to your daughter and her division. Almost through with BC. Soon she will be out in the fleet - how exciting!!! I hope she does get a chance to meet up with our other sailors there at Dam Neck - especially since several of the guys there now have cars. If she plays her cards right she shouldn't have to find transportation!!!! he-he.
Welcome to Carl and Irene,
I have a son in A school also - referred to as ChrisA (A for Anna) as there are several Chris's in this group!!!! He is a fleet returnee - decided to go back in a year after his initial 4 year enlistment ended. Looking forward to getting to know you and your sailor. Mary's comments about our group are all true - we support and help each other out in many ways.
Rene,
Glad to hear little Jackson and his mommy are doing well. I know it must tug at your heart to have them with the other grandma and not you. But you are right - at least your daughter has someone to help her out right now even if it can't be you!!! I got a chuckle out of your "bribe" to Jared regarding the uniform. Money still works wonders for these young sailors doesn't it??!!!!!!

Hope everyone has had a good weekend. For the first time in a LLLLLOOOOONNNNNNGGGGG time we have sunny, warm temps here in NE Ohio. Actually spent some time outdoors this weekend. I started taking the Christmas lights down on the front bushes!!!!
Hugs to everyone,
Anna

Hi Carl and Irene, Welcome to our group! Rene's son Jared is at home for a few more days before returning to VB as he is also waiting to class up for "C" school. We look forward to getting to know you and Cameron.

Tooswife1, A huge congrats to Kayla and her division for the Cap'n's Cup!!! You will be so happy to hear from her Wednesday after battle stations!! We will be saying prayers for her this week as she prepares to officially become a sailor. I can't wait for her to get to Dam Neck and be able to meet everyone. It will be a nice change for her (except for the food). Jump on N4M while you are in Chicago so she can check out the pics of the guys at school so she will know them when she gets there! They can help her get adjusted.

Valerie, Thank you so much but my job is of little importance in comparison to your loss. I shall try to phone you again in a few days, when things settle a bit for you. You have my numbers if you need me before then. I usually only sleep a couple of hours a night so call anytime. Take care, dear friend and we look forward to hearing from you again soon. Tell Wesley we are thinking of him and praying for him as well.
{{{Love and Hugs}}}
