Valerie,
I also told ChrisA to watch for Wes Christopher to join his class!!! He said he'll keep an eye out for him!!! I'll certainly keep Wes in my prayers that the rest of this A school will be smooth sailing for him.

By the way ladies - I did learn something from Chris last night. I remember a comment some time ago about there being two different types of classes - self-paced and instructor led. ChrisA said the school is so short on instructors that sometimes all classes are "self-paced" AND instructor led. Sometimes the instructor has to go help out somewhere else so he will tell the class to continue on on their own. ChrisA also said that he heard at some time all the IS's may have a stint as instructor until they get enough instructors.

Just wanted to share that with you!!!

Sorry Suzanne, I was trying to find the conversation so that I could paste Vikki's answer in here but Anna answered you which is just as good. I will paste Vikki's comment as well, her son Tim, is presently stationed in England.
Hey Mary - I can answer that one! Platforms are ships - and they have to learn the ships by sight and I do believe by silouette. There are 2 parts to the platforms and now I am wondering if that might be in Unit 6. Anyway the details they have to know about each platform - a ton of info. That is about all I could get out of my son back when he was in school. But I remember him saying that a bunch of guys had to re do that unit.

Suzanne,
No unfortunately I don't know that much about what is in the other units. I only get a short check in with my son on the weekends so I don't get a chance to ask him too many questions. He spends the most of his free time talking to his wife. Who would have thought - wife instead of Mom!!!??? just kidding!!
Thanks for the website info tho'. I'll have to take a look there also and suggest it to Chris.

Good Afternoon Ladies,
Glad to hear everyone is doing well.
Valerie - I am so happy for Wes!!! So now we have several of our boys together.
Suzanne,
The platforms unit unit is where they learn the profile of ships, planes, ground units, etc that they would see. They not only have to know the enemy profiles but US as well. It's infomation they would have to give in a brief. They have to know what they are looking at. Good to hear from you again.

Rene,
When is Jared taking his final exam? Does he graduate this Friday?

No problem I don't remember if it's Unit 10 that is "platforms" but I have heard that most of the students hate platforms. MaybeAndrew just passed that.

Hip-Hip-Hoorah for Wesley Christopher!! lol ! I'll try to let Chris know later to look for him. Not like I've not told him to already!

I told Wes that I was worried about Unit 10 and he said "Mom, don't worry"... Yea right, me not worry? Well I found out he will be starting Unit 6 (Again) on Monday... Yeah!!! For all of you moms that have son's or daughters just starting out, I kind of got the low down on how the classes go (anyone correct me if I am wrong). Wk 1 = Unit 1 & 2; Wk 2 = Unit 3, Wk 3 = Unit 4; Wk 4 = Unit 5; Wk 5 = Unit 6 Ugh!!; Wk 6 = Units 7 & 8; Wk 7 = Unit 9; Wk 8 & Wk 9 = Unit 10 Wk 10 = Unit 11; Wk 11 = Unit 12; Wk 12 = Unit 13 & Finally Wk 13 = Unit 14! Then Graduation.

I just heard from my Chris a while ago. For some reason he thought I'd know how to get hair dye off hands. I said they give you gloves. Well the girl threw the gloves away too soon. I asked how his test went and he said it was going to be graded during lunch break. He was not as confident with his results, although last night after being gone off base all weekend he was a bit over-confident. Maybe someday he will learn. (Nah)
I'm glad Andrew is doing well and it does sound like he is a few weeks ahead. It sounds as though maybe he is doing platforms now? One of the other moms could probably tell you if that's where he is at this point. I think that's about where Rene's Jared was a couple of weeks ago. I'll go back and see if I can find the post where we dicussed the week no./unit no.

The two Chris' are taking their Unit 5 test this morning. Do you know which Unit Andrew is on?
