Hi tooswife! welcome to our sometimes silly, sometimes tearful discussions. Some of us are new to all this too (military and Intel), some have sons/daughters who have been in the fleet for a few years. What is your daughter going to train for? Most of the moms right now are IS moms but we also have CT moms in here now. A perfect fit and variety. I'm sure your daughter will do fine with the remainder of her time at GL. We look forward to getting to know you and a bit about your daughter. I know you forward to seeing her.
My son is ChrisM, he is in his 4th week of IS training at Dam Neck, VA.

Oh Vikki! I so happy you found your way out from under the table! Glad it's your table, you would have found dust bunnies and leap jeeps under mine. (That would have been cause for at least one more glass of wine, resulting in more time under the table.)

Anna, I'm going to have to search out those other IM MOCs. Oh and btw, for the new moms, Anna is our (so far) only IM MOC/MOT.

Valerie, It's been a little while since you posted and it's now 11:14 so I'm hoping you've heard from Wes and that all is ok there.

Have a good night everyone!

Mary,
Just saw your second post there. ChrisA did tell me there are 3 other Chris's in his class - your son being one of them. So even tho' we don't know the mom's there are 4 total in that class alone!!!!!

Welcome Yvette,
We have several twin moms in this group. I think this group is one of the tightest groups going. I have twin daughters - one's in college, one's in the Navy also.

Mary,
If you need some help getting parts let me know. My other son has more car connections - he used to work as a mechanic, salesman, store manager, - - - you mention it. If we know what he needs maybe we can get it to him when we go down later this month. Keep me posted. ChrisA just answered me back - he said the Ford Collision place does good work but is a little pricey. Did you say insurance will cover this since someone else hit him?

Yvette, say it isn't so! Now the IM (Intel moms) MOTs (moms of twins) do outnumber the IM MOCs (moms of Chris)! They allow twins here the same as moms of twins (I think they also allow twin uncles, twin parent/aunt/uncle, ... just to stay ahead of the MOCs). It's ok, somewhere in the fleet I know there are some more Chrises we just have to find them to get back ahead of the MOTs!.

*shaking head* Anna I think I kept up with the Chris sentence well enough to say thank you. I know my Chris will not say anything as far as asking for help but when it comes to cars, Oh my gosh!! Yeah he will need more help then what I can give him long distance. I told him if they want too much for a headlight to call me. I know I can get one off ebay fairly cheap and I can put it on and then get a body shop to align it. The fiberglass I can't do. I do appreciate it and I know down inside ChrisM would too. Thanks.

Mary,
I will send a message to ChrisA about ChrisM's car and have my Chris give your Chris some suggestions. (Boy that's alot of Chris in that sentence isn't it?!!) I'm so sorry to hear about your layoff. I'm not working either right now. Because of moving I had to leave my last job. I'm going to start looking into temp positions soon. I need something to get up and get out of the house for!!
I wonder why they would have changed the code like that? ChrisA was telling me about a couple of the briefs and how this one instructor would interrupt the student and make jokes or other funny comments during the brief. Seems he was doing it just to try to rattle the student and get them to get off track.

Rene,
I'm so glad your hubby is safe. This economy is in such a mess right now. I am so sorry about your daughter's job. Hope she finds something again soon.

Navy Twins Mom,
I'm also curious about the different CT ratings if you happen to know them. When I was in the Reserves I was getting so tired of not having a billet because of being a female OS, so I tried to cross rate to CTO. Do you know if that rate is still an option or did the Navy change it? I haven't kept up with all the rating changes. Especially since there have been so many in the past few years.
Oh and I didn't pass the test for CTO2!! Oh well, I tried!!

Pattie Sue,
So glad are you are here with us. There certainly is lots to read!!! And I've contributed enough for now!!!!

Oh Rene, I'm so glad for you both that his job is secure for now. That's a real blessing. I felt lucky to have made it at my job as long as I did as some got laid off two years ago who had been there for over 20 years. Two weeks before I first got laid off they laid off a group and a couple of them had been there close to 30 years so I knew my 14 years was nothing to them. I heard they got a couple more today one has been there a year longer than I have. Like I told someone else, If life closes a door, God opens a window. I just have to see the light so I can find the window.

Anna, while I'm thinking about it, do you think your Chris would know a decent body shop in the area? One of the girls hit Chris' car in the parking lot and left a note on his car. It was more than the "scratches" she said she left but he's not too worried about the paint. It did break the lens on his headlight and broke the fiberglass around the headlight and that will have to be fixed. Chris told her he would help as much as he could and not get it all fixed but now he can't get her to answer her phone since he spoke to her Saturday morning. Maybe your Chris knows where he could take it for an estimate? My son is totally clueless when it comes to cars and mechanics. Besides with classes he may only have this Saturday to get it looked out. I figure the insurance company will want two estimates. So any help would be appreciated. I forgot to mention it to my Chris last night.
