Dawn, I hope your Chris arrives safely. I worried about mine (not ever having driven further than Gatlinburg, TN) but he has made it home and is actually gone again to see friends.

Rene, :( Sorry you have to go. You needed the break! Have a good day.

Hi Dawn! I probably don't need to wish you a good morning as you are likely on cloud nine all day today but have a wonderful day. Don't wear yourself out getting ready, just enjuy your time with Christopher when he gets there. Is he driving straight through? That's such a long drive if he's not able to start until after noon. I know that he is relieved to be out of school finally and going back back home to family and friends if only for a short time. Hoo-rah Dawn!

Anna, I'm so glad you made it back safely, I know you are tired, both physically and emotionally. It's so nice to have a close family to see and be with during the bumpy times. Have you gotten to the point that the funeral home gives you guys a family discount? (My demented humor) I'm praying that the Chrises do well on their test today. Chris went back and studied last night for a while but when he called back later he was bowling. He said, "Guess what? I just bowled my first turkey ever!" Cool son, I hope you do as well on your test.

Rene and Valerie, I hope Jared and Wes each have a good day today with whatever they are each doing.

Vikki, glad you got those taxes out of the way! Whew! Now Hershey's is going to have to have a layoff! (The rest of us will make sure the vineyards stay open)

Ellen, Did you get that mountain of clothes washed? I'm sorry you will miss being able to meet ChrisM...ary. He will be in W-S tonight on his way home. I convinced him not to try to make the entire trip after having class all day. It only leaves him a little over an hour to finish the trip Saturday morning and my neice and nephew will get to see him even if only for a few minutes tonight and tomorrow if they get up before he leaves. I'm so glad I got him a GPS before I took the car to him.

Barbara, I hope you got some rest last night. Sometimes I feel more worn out from just sitting at a hospital waiting. It can make 5 hours feel like 8 and 10 hours feel like 20, but I'm happy the outcome was so positive. Best of luck to your mom. Did they ever get Brendan somewhere permanent?

Good luck to the sailors taking tests, working, and traveling today and to their moms. Congrats again Dawn!

PS Ellen your little group is really growing! I'm going to need another notebook if they all start jumping in!

Hello Ladies,
I just got a chance to get on my computer for just a little while - it's already tomorrow morning. I drove up to my "old hometown" today as this was the day of my uncle's funeral service. Pretty much all my mom's family still lives in the same small rural town in NE Ohio, so all these funerals in the last year and 1/2 have been at the same funeral home. So all of us demented cousins are joking about how nice it is that we keep having our family reunions at the funeral home and just how much money they are making on our family alone. In between all the sadness there is still crazy funny!!!! Anyway I decided to go ahead and drive home instead of spending the night up there at my sister's. I'll have to check back in with everyone and catch up. Time for shut eye now!!!

Barbara, enjoy your Riesling, it sound like you could use one! (or two). :) I'm glad your mom's surgery seems sucessful.

My son called a while ago. He got his car last weekend so he wants to drive home after class tomorrow so he can see his girlfriend for Valentine's. It's sweet but it's such a long drive just to see her for a couple of hours. He has duty Sunday morning so he will have to leave Saturday afternoon. I did at least convince him to stop about an hour and a half from here to spend the night with my sister tomorrow night and finish the trip Saturday morning. Stay a few hours and then head back. I hope he got his oil changed this week!

LOL!! I'm glad you figured out the little blue box Vikki! It threw me when they changed it from an "x" to a box the other day. I'm not real sure I like the new format but I've not found a way to change it back so...

Valerie, I agree that a good white merlot is good as well. I've not been able to find any lately that has been as good. Suggestions? I also find that the 2008 Riesling is a bit drier than the '06-07. I quit buying '08 vintage from any vineyard. I found some really good Riesling at Sam's just before Christmas. It was cheap so I bought a bottle and liked it so much that I bought three more bottles to have over the holidays. I have 1 bottle left. I'm saving it for Palm Sunday lunch with the family. Enough about the wine or I'll be opening a bottle.

Valerie, I like the pics!!! You did good figuring that out.

Ellen, you could be right! My humor does not kick in good until I've had Barbara's three glasses of wine (Riesling please, 2006 or 2007). At the third glass though, you can't make heads or tails of my typing. I've got to go check out Valerie's pics. I've been helping my mom this afternoon so it's catching up time. Ellen, have your kids left for England yet? What are you going to do with your vacation time while they are out of the country?
