Cute Rene, No, they won't break the IMs because we have the advantage, we have insider and outsider info! Ooops! Was I supposed to tell about Anna's Chris' conspiracy theory. Oh well, at least we try to conspire for them, not against them.

Barbara, welcome! You will come to realize soon that the name Chris is confusing at best. We have three Chrises here. Dawn's son Chris is graduating "C" school at the end of the week. Anna's son Chris is a returnee from the fleet and he is in the same class as my Chris who graduated from bc Jan. 9th. It's often hard for me to write about Chris because I begin to lose track of what I'm saying and then can't figure out which one I'm writing about! lol I think a doctor would quietly call it dementia.
I sorry that your son is having such a problem getting his orders straightened out. I wonder if this is a normal thing? I know that when Chris went to Dam Neck he had orders to report there, a date to start classes and a date for his leave. Once there, he did not begin classes when he was supposed to nor did he the week following that and now not only has his leave date changed but may actually be postponed. He does not really mind and neither do I except that we were told right from the start that those orders were how it would be so that's how we planned our family Christmas and a couple of other celebrations. It's got to be frustrating not only to the parents but to these sailors who are tired from their travel and get there just to be turned away everywhere they try to go. I hope they get things worked out.

Boy Rene, you really can relate to Barbara's situation. It sounds like Jared all over again! Everybody wants him but he doesn't know who is going to get him!

Valerie, I know it's still early in Cal. but have you heard from Wes yet? I hope he does not have to wait until the Chris' catch up. What's worse is he will be confused because there are actually I believe 4 Chrises in the class. (It may only be three).

Anna, that was another funny one your son told the other day. Appearently our sons are two of the louder ones in the class. Your son said he came into the class room one morning and loudly said something like, "Ok who all in here is named Chris? And who in here is named Chris whose has a mom that talks to other Navy moms online?" I really had so much fun meeting him.

Dawn,
What an awesome story about your daughter's boot camp going above and beyond for her. You are so right, there are bunches of the good guys (and gals) but it only takes one of the not so good to mess up things for others. But isn't it like that in all walks of life!! And we can't stop worrying about our sailors. I think that's in the job description!!!! We need to always acknowledge all the good guys helping our sailors when they needed it most!!!
Has your daughter reported to Hawaii now?

Rene and Valerie,
I got a little insight this weekend while talking to my Chris that makes me feel that the upperclass instructors care about our sailors. When Chris went back in this second time he had to accept a considerable demotion; he was an unofficial E5 but had to go to IS A school as a E3. Well friday while giving his brief on his life as an AO the instructor questioned why he was a SN if he passed the tests for E5. After some conversation with this first class he told Chris to bring in his paperwork and he's going to look at it with Chris. Seems to me - he wouldn't have to do this at all but I think he wants to. So maybe they do look out for our sailors, but we all know life in the Navy means "hurry up and wait". Maybe everything is going to work out fine for our sailors - but we have to wait for the Navy to do things on it's timetable - not ours.
Now - they could totally prove me wrong (pessimist aren't I??) but lets pray they don't!! I keep all our boys in my prayers for C school, classing up, passing all tests and briefs, staying healthy, and getting the rank they deserve, etc...!!!
Love to all,
Anna

Greetings all Intel Moms!!!! I am so sorry Rene - security was breached again!! (You weren't supposed to know they were in IHOP!!!)
Mary - I'm sure Chris gave you some funny stories. Since Chris is my middle son, he always jokes about "the middle child" syndrome. Of course I would always tell him he won't get any sympathy from me because I was the middle child also. So I'd tell him that everything I did when he was growing up was to build his character!!! Now he is such a character!!!! (literally!!) But I love him to pieces - he can certainly make you laugh!!!
Dawn, I am so happy for your son! How exciting to be starting his life in the "fleet" now.
I'm praying that all of our sailors stay healthy. With all the pressures they are under being under the weather health wise could only add to their stress level.

That's wonderful Dawn! At least I had a good reason for missing him Saturday when we took Chris to the barracks to drop off his car. He showed me where the "C" school barracks are and I watched the outside like a hawk. I was sure I'd recognize your Chris if I saw him! But alas! It was not to be, ...but it's alright, now I know he was off having fun. He's right! That ol Abe is one tall dude!

Thanks Rene, I think he's kinda cute but that's just my totally unbiased opinion (did I say UNbiased? well...). LOL Your Intel skills are to be commended, it is an IHOP (sorry, you can blame Anna's Chris on location since he knows the area). We did have fun and though we didn't really do anything it was good to be able to put a few faces and names together.
Anna's Chris was a riot. He is very outgoing and personable, and is also quite humorous. And the way Anna says that he answered the phone is true. He knew the number and that's just what he said, "It's a conspiracy...IMs" lol (Like we are an international organization) The very best part was that both the Chris' seem to be well, doing good and are happy.
I'm sorry Jared has the sinus crud. Maybe Chris will be able to avoid it as he and a few others coming out of bc the same week already had it upon arriving at school. I'm sure though that Jared is going to do fine. He does seem to have a streak of melodrama coursing through his blood! I've been hearing him say it's really tough, it's getting harder, this is the hardest yet and I'm sure he's telling the truth but he just keeps on plugging along and gittn 'er done.
I like the idea of the funny stories page. It can make you miss your child a lot but it can also help to see how much they have developed over the years (we hope) and maybe give some insight as to why they chose the NAVY or Intel.
Have a good day at work Rene. We will try to find a Denny's next time. I think I'm going back at Easter, I'm not sure yet.

Rene, You know me too well! LOL I would have stopped and checked except that I had another car and driver going and more importantly I don't have a satellite card so I couldn't. :( But it does make me think that maybe I should invest in one.
Valerie, I'm so glad that you are feeling better about Wes and his situation. I know that everyone's circumstance is different, and I know that none of these guys are having it "easy", but I really had worried about Chris. Now I know better. Yes, he will still have a tough time with the classes and yes there are times I'm sure that he misses home and friends, but I see that he has friends there...good friends, and he is getting out and having some fun. He did not look deprivated, abused, nor totally stressed out as I thought he might. I believe that this visit was good for me as much as it was for Chris. Keep encouraging Wes and remind him that school is temporary. He may have to put forth some extra effort and suck up some of his pride and stubbornness but if he wants it I'm sure he will do much better this next time around.
Dawn, I'm sorry that I did not get to see your Chris either although I did look for him. I was so ready to congratulate him on his sucess! I know you are proud of him and look forward to seeing him.
I'm sorry I am so tired tonight and have so many emails and pics to send. Tomorrow I will try to recap the adventure.
Good night everyone!

Hello everyone! It's nice to see my son and nice to be back home! Anna, I'm glad you got your pics and yes that is my Chris holding my roommates grandson who we took with us to see "Uncle Chris". After today, I think, he thinks he has 2 "Uncle Chrises"! I popped him one time as we were waiting to be seated and he slid right up against your Chris like, "Ooo, you're big and strong, protect me!" Then your Chris showed him how to bend someone's thumb to make them give in so once again Isaiah was happy. You have a totally wonderful son.

Anna, We are officially the IMs (Intel Moms)! I sent you an email with pics! You have a wonderful son. I'm so glad I got to meet him. I'm going to be brief tonight so I can catch up on the reading! I had a wonderful time though. The trip was oh so long and our time there seemed so short but it was worth it.
