OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Thank you all that came to the meet and greet yesterday! I would judge by all the toys on my table that the meet and greet was a success. We collect over 40 toys for the "Toys for Tots" program

.
Noe, from the Northern Calif group won the quilt.

My voice is horse today from all the laughing and talking we did.

A good Veterans Day to all those who have served and to those who are currently serving our country. Thank-you.

Stupid me. Just wanted to clarify - in case my farewell message gave the wrong impression. We spoke with our sailor last night. He sounded great. They were out on a short excursion testing equipment etc. etc. Things must have gone well. He is approved to be home for Xmas - just a short stay but at least we'll see him. I am promising that I will not be selfish and I will not stamp my feet and pout if he wants to spend the majority of his time with gf.

Dear Friends,
I was going to wait until after the holidays but with my sailor coming home I have decided to up the timetable. I will be transitioning to a passive role on Navy For Moms.
1) Please drop in more often and spread the sailor news.
2) Remember this is a public site. What you post will be visible to all.
3) Please invite N4M members who are not members of a group to join. I know having friends in many groups has make a real difference in my life. Many new members will need the support of members who have been here longer and more experienced with being a Navy family.

I have been so very fortunate to meet so many wonderful people through Navy For Moms. My life is good. Same house, same husband, same job, same kids (no animals) – at this point in my life, it’s comforting. I am stepping back to concentrate on personal projects. I won’t be gone – just not available on a regular basis. I will stop by periodically to check up on things.

Best wishes to you and your family.
Bea

They go through NSI -
Naval Science Institute - Seaman to Admiral 21 Program when in STA-21 - located at the same place as OCS, here is the webpage - http://www.ocs.navy.mil/nsi.asp. My son starts there in Feb!
