Hi Kati!   I'm in Missoula- my son is currently attending College in Oregon - he had enlisted but was selected for the STA-21 enlisted to officer program.   What will your son be doing?

Any one here recently?  I am in Corvallis, Montana.  My son will have PIR 10/5/2012.

Happy Holidays to all of you Montana Navy Moms! Hope you enjoy the balmy weather we are having.  Maybe someday we can have a Navy Mom's lunch for us Montanans :)

Hey!  Anyone in the Great Falls, Montana area interested in a weekend job?  If so, please contact me!  It has something to do with checking water wells.  I don't know what it pays - probably not much - but it would be great for a teenage kid (I think).  My 75 year old dad is doing it now but I want him to come to Texas for the winter.

Thanks!

Montana moms,

I put together a list of groups associated with ship.Click on this link, scroll down to the ship/boat your son/daughter is on. The Stennis has THREE groups. Roberta, I would suggest joining the two for families (the is one for wives/fiancees) and post a comment. If you find a Montana mom who is not in this group, please tell her to join us.

Here is the link to the list.

P.S. I live in Northern CA down the Peninsula about 25 south of San Fran, Kelly and I have been long time N4M friends. My younger son is in Williston, ND works on oil rig and will be living in Billings part time. Air fare from San Fran to Billings is alot cheaper than to Williston. :)  We'll visit in the spring/early summer when the weather is more friendly to my old bones. Just holler if you are coming out to the city by the Bay.

Kelly, my son is doing well and loves his job. It's extremely hard work - that is why they get the money. Tell your son you have an "IN" with someone out on a rig! LOL. Depending on schedules, he and my son could even meet. My hubby took him to the airport this morning - he'll be picked up around 6am tomorrow to start work. The time he was here sped by too fast. I am getting a twinge of empty nest depression today.

Hey why don't you and Gaileann each send out a group message. I have communicated with a number of the members besides you two and I am surprised that no one comes in and post.  On the other hand, the SF members are the same way. I have concluded it may be the way I do things. I'd should figure out a better marketing plan!!!  :(

Kelly,

One of the crew members is from Billings. He has lived in Billings for years. Owned a dry wall business but the construction sector has not returned to it's glory days yet, so he found a job on a rig. He is old enough to be my son's father but young enough to do the heavy work. He has 2 grown kids who work and live somewhere in MT. If your neighbor's son has any questions about on a rig - you know who to ask. He also owns a decent size home, so he can rent a room to my son - I guess that would help him with the expenses and Charlie in return gets to have a bases to explore another part of the country.

I just posted a comment on Worried Mom's page. She is a new member on N4M and is from Great Falls, MT.  She didn't know about this group.  For a sign my husband suggested, "I may be from California but I am no quiche eater."  Do you remember the book Real Men Don't Eat Quiche?

Hey moms, did you know you can send a group message to all members? See option right about member icons.
