I love that!  I think I am going to make one for him. He has been here in CA since Saturday night - eating and sleeping. Taking him to the airport at dawn.  God, it's great to have him home.

Hi Gailean,

We can communicate via comments here, on our respective personal pages or via the private message system (only available if members are friends with each other). My son likes ND. After two months, he found work and is thriving. He is thinking of getting a second place in Billings because he works 10 days on and 5 days off. Nothing to do in Williston. I am old friends with Kelly **gunnerJ's mom** and to my surprise the light bulb went off that she is from Billings, MT!  LOL.

So I thought I chat with the moms here so when I come to visit we can have a meet and greet. We have them often out here in CA. My San Fran group have had over 20 meet and greets since Oct of 2009. Some are small. I had almost 30 at my house in '09.  Of course, we don't have to travel as far as you gals.

My guess is that we won't come until Spring. But you never know .... depends on work these days.

My sailor (roughneck's older brother) is in Hawaii on a sub.

I heard somewhere that there are Blue Star Mom pins available? Is that true? If so, where can one purchase one? I might have dreamed it.... :)

Military Day Parade in Helena Saturday afternoon! Have to watch with all my Navy swag on the sidelines! Should be fun if it doesn't pour down rain!

Gaileann, I have found that already. Such a pleasure. My son likes people in the midwest - he said, "People are genuine - no hidden agenda." He has lived in the West and East Coasts.

Thanks Gaileann. People I have spoken with (motels, etc) have all been super nice. I understand the oil companies are building "man camp" temp housing and Williston is building left and right. As a last resort, he could sleep in his SUV while he is looking for work.

Dear Montana moms,

My husband and I live in CA - half way between San Francisco and San Jose. Our sailor is a lieutenant on a submarine port in HI. Our independent minded younger son has been studying petroleum engineering in Oklahoma but has decided to learn the oil industry from the ground up. He is in North Dakota looking for work. We never quite envisioned this for either of our boys.

I am looking for moms in the Sidney/Glendive area along 12 or 2.  I needs idea on finding housing.

I have been here for a while. Please don't hesitate to ask me if you need anything. If I don't know the answer, I am sure I can find where to get the answer or the right person to ask to get the right answer.

Of course, if you are coming to North CA - I can give you tips on places to stay, sight see - etc.

Thank you in advance.

P.S. Hi Kelly - yes my guy is up there as we speak. I am not sure how I will live through his trial and error ways.
