Martina, Hang in there - it does get a little easier. It was so hard not being able to communicate, but it sure is nice once he got out of BC. Im sure letters will be much appreciated! I sent comic strips and such that he could share with others also. You will find out that N4M's site is fun - some times my son rolls his eyes, but overall I think he approves. I have met some great Moms/wifes of sailors.-both online and in person. I met some moms while my son was in bc, it got to be a joke with him going around asking for first names so he could find the Sailors of the Moms/wives that I was chatting with :)
We have talked in the past about getting Missoula area Moms together - maybe we should plan something. I did go to a Blue Star Mothers mtg, - I would be interested in a chapter here.

Hi Carol,
It is good to know there are other Navy moms in the area. Since my son is still in his second week of BC still have not received a letter from him and I am getting very anxious. It seems strange not being to talk to him so I write to him every day. I hope his ship mates don't think that is too weird. I am told letters are very important so I am trying to make BC a little easier. Thank you for replying.

Hi Martina- I am from the Missoula Area. My son has been in for about 1 1/2 years, he is in the final school in the Nuke pipeline.
DiverPam - enjoy your visit! My son was just home for a couple weeks - we had a great visit - hard to send him back, but good to see how well he is doing!

My son shipped out for BC on 7-27-10 from Portland where he was living. I am still trying to get use to the idea he is in The Navy. I am very proud of him but also a little sad. Anybody out there from Missoula?
