We have a very close family friend ( I call him one of my sons) that is EOD. He is stationed on the East coast. I think EOD are some of the bravest guys out there! Tell him Thank You for me please!

Mine emailed last night and said he would try to call this afternoon

My son had a contact person on his ship when he was done with A school. He went through the same kind of zip, zip, too. He'll have to ask what he can bring. I have heard that Skype doesn't work on board, but don't know. Navy e-mail is our lifeline most of the time. (he will get an address when he is on ship)
Thanks for the encouragement, CindyH.

My son's home port is Norfolk. He is on his first deployment. Sure miss him, but e-mail has made it easier. He's not a big writer, but he's trying. Hard when they can't say much but how much sleep they're not getting. lol

Hi. Also new to the group. My son will deploy soon, also. I am trying to get everything I can organized before he comes on leave before shipping out. Love all the helpful tips.

I think it will never matter how old our kids are we will worry. I think we worry even more when they are in the military. It is very hard when they are deployed and we can't be there to do for them, or when they are stationed a long ways from home. Navy08mom, I hope your son get better soon.
