Went to see The Descendants last night. As a Christian woman I would NOT recommend this movie. Lots of the "F" word, as well as frequent "GD" and many other cuss words. At least for my husband and I, this made the movie totally unenjoyable. Also, we found the content was quite slow and depressing. Just one Navy Mom's opinion...
My husband and I saw Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close last weekend. It was EXCELLENT! The kid who stars in it does an outstanding job - pretty amazing for his age!
Welcome to Valorie Wiley
War House sounds a little like Black Beauty.
Hi Carol and thank you for the welcome. War Horse is about a boy who raises a horse which eventually is sold (by his dad) to soldiers in WWI. It is the story of what this horse goes through in the war (people he meets and situations he's in resulting from those he meets). Also follows along with the boy as he grows and eventually becomes a soldier himself.
Fire Team Leader - MOST DEFINITELY take kleenex if you go.
Note: The war scenes were a bit tough for me to watch (had to cover my eyes some), but the story is well worth getting through those tough parts. I highly recommend this movie. We saw 3 over the holidays: We Bought A Zoo - cute but definitely could have waited for a rental; Mission Impossible - not for me my hubby wanted to see it, and War Horse which I definitely rate #1 out of the 3.
I didn't think that there could be a better movie on IMAX than Star Trek. Boy was I wrong...We went and saw Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol on IMAX. EXCELLENT movie. Great special effects, action scenes, and stroy line. I've never been a huge fan of the MI movies, but I definitely am now. Tom Cruise was great in the film. I'm definitely going to buy it on Blu Ray when it comes out on DVD.
Patrick's Mom - I have a feeling Kleenex is a required item for War Horse?! ;-)
Liked the new Mission Impossible. It was non-stop action and the best since the first movie.
Welcome Patrick's Mom . What was the War Horse about?
