Prayers for the VP 10 squad and the family of this young sailor that passed away in the car wreck last night. Horrible loss.

If they're working / training on the electronic components of the plane, do they get any 'flying time'. I thought as an AE, he'd be on the ground?

Thnx, Donna.

Folks from Houston were visiting their sailor in P'cola and had less of a drive time, than I did from Fort Myers. But TX is HUGE! ;-)) I moved to FL from NJ about 2 years ago and he stayed there for school, but then enlisted. So he just went to NJ for leave over holidays to visit friends that he may not see for a year.

Hi geema3. My son is there also. He is with the Red Lancers (VP10?). He loves JAX but misses home and friends too. He just went back after his couple weeks of leave. We are in TX so even the 10 hours away would have been closer. I hope your grandson is settled and making friends.

Hello All,

My grandson just arrived about a week ago from A school in Pensacola. Says he's with VP30 squadron?  But also said he isn't scheduled for classes till June. So far, likes JAX. Says it bigger than P'cola. His car died in P'cola and is 'itching for wheels'. Says room is bigger and only one room mate. And ' they're treated like adults'  can have food in room and has hours like a 'real job'. Can go off base every night and weekends.. He just turned 21. Hope the discipline he's received since BC last March keeps him doing the right thing. He lived with me from 11 to 19. Plan on visiting in Feb. JAX is only about 5 hours from me. P'cola was 10 long hours.

Hi Renee, "I" is in VP40 and really likes it.  He is home but just for a few days.  Glad to hear D is getting to live off base.  "I" hopes to move off base when he returns from deployment.

Merry Christmas!
